Fu Xingchen traveled southward, heading towards Shu Han. Throughout his journey, he endured hardships without a hint of retreat.
One day, he arrived at a bustling little town. At a tea stall at the entrance of the town, he sat down to rest and inadvertently overheard the conversation of the people at the next table.
"Have you heard? Recently, a righteous hero named Su Yizhi has emerged from Shu Han. He's truly remarkable!"
"Oh? Tell me more."
"Apparently, he has punished many tyrants and bullies, standing up for the common people and gaining widespread fame."
Listening to this, Fu Xingchen felt a surge of admiration for Su Yizhi. He thought to himself, "If I have the chance, I must meet this person."
Meanwhile, on the other side of Shu Han, Su Yizhi had also heard from his friends in the martial world about a young man named Fu Xingchen from Cao Wei, who similarly harbored a sense of justice and had helped many suffering people single-handedly. Su Yizhi was filled with curiosity and anticipation about Fu Xingchen, eager to meet him soon.
The wheels of fate quietly turned, and on this seemingly ordinary day in the little town, their paths finally crossed.
As Fu Xingchen walked down the street, he suddenly heard some commotion ahead. He quickened his pace and saw a group of bullies surrounding a ragged old man, beating him mercilessly.
"Old Man, dare to block our way? You must be tired of living!" the bullies shouted menacingly.
Anger surged within Fu Xingchen as he prepared to intervene, but then a figure darted past like a gust of wind. It was Su Yizhi, who shouted loudly, "Stop!"
The bullies were startled by this sudden reprimand and turned to look at Su Yizhi.
"Where did this blind fool come from, daring to meddle in our affairs!" One of the bullies charged forward, swinging his fist.
Su Yizhi reacted swiftly, dodging the blow and countering with a punch that sent the bully crashing to the ground. At that moment, Fu Xingchen could no longer hold back and joined the fray, fighting alongside Su Yizhi.
The two worked together seamlessly, their moves sharp and decisive. Before long, the bullies were fleeing in disarray.
Though weak, the old man was filled with gratitude, tears welling in his eyes. "Thank you both for saving me."
Fu Xingchen and Su Yizhi exchanged a smile and spoke in unison, "There's no need for thanks, elder."
In that moment, they seemed to see the justice and determination reflected in each other's eyes.
"I am Fu Xingchen, from Cao Wei," Fu Xingchen introduced himself with a respectful bow.
"I am Su Yizhi, a pleasure to meet you!" Su Yizhi returned the gesture.
"How about we find a place to sit down and have a good chat?" Fu Xingchen suggested.
Su Yizhi readily agreed.
They arrived at an inn and chose a quiet corner to sit down.
" Brother Su, I have long heard of your noble deeds. Today, seeing you in person, it truly lives up to its reputation," Fu Xingchen raised his cup in salute to Su Yizhi.
Su Yizhi smiled and downed his drink in one gulp. "Brother Fu, you flatter me. In truth, I greatly admire your deeds in Cao Wei."
After a few rounds of drinks, their conversation flowed freely.
"In these chaotic times, the suffering of the common people is beyond words. While we can alleviate immediate crises, it is difficult to change the fundamental issues," Fu Xingchen said, his expression serious.
Su Yizhi nodded in agreement. "Indeed, if we truly wish to save the people, we must have long-term plans."
"I believe the urgent task at hand is to gather more like-minded individuals to form a powerful force that can stand against evil," Fu Xingchen declared with determination in his eyes.
A glimmer of light flashed in Su Yizhi's eyes. "What you say is very true, Brother Fu. I share the same sentiment."
As they continued to talk, they found themselves increasingly in sync, from analyzing the current situation to planning for the future; their thoughts aligned perfectly.
Before they knew it, night had fallen, and the patrons of the tavern began to disperse.
"Brother Fu, why don't we join forces and work together for the welfare of all?" Su Yizhi said excitedly.
Fu Xingchen grasped Su Yizhi's hand tightly. "Yes! May we carve out a new world amidst this chaos!"
That night, they drank and talked late into the night, their ideals burning even brighter within them.
