The Six Paths of Invisible Sword Qi surged like a swimming dragon, accompanied by a sharp sound that pierced the air, aiming directly at Kim Tae-wook's throat, chest, and dantian—vital points of his body. This sudden attack caught Kim Tae-wook off guard. His expression changed drastically as he hurriedly crossed his arms in front of his chest, bracing himself against the six streams of sword energy.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” The muffled sounds echoed through the mine like the beating of a drum, causing loose stones to tumble down. Kim Tae-wook felt a powerful force crashing against his arms, numbing them and splitting open his palms, blood pouring out. The excruciating pain forced a groan from him as he staggered back a few steps. He stared in disbelief at his bloodied hands before looking up at Park Bucheng not far away, his eyes filled with horror.
“What?! This kid actually knows this kind of skill?!” Kim Tae-wook was filled with shock; he never expected that Park Bucheng, who seemed like an inconspicuous gangster underling, possessed such profound inner strength. He had always thought Park Bucheng was just a clever thug, but he had no idea how deeply the other had hidden his abilities. This sudden turn of events shattered his previously confident mindset.
Park Bucheng sneered, a disdainful smile curling at the corners of his mouth. “Is this all you've got? The real show is yet to come!” He slowly raised his right hand, bringing his index and middle fingers together and pointing at Kim Tae-wook with a mocking tone. “Haven't you always wanted to know what other trump cards I have? Let me show you today!”
In a flash, he lunged forward like a cheetah, his palms flying as he unleashed a storm of attacks on Kim Tae-wook. The force of each strike was fierce, accompanied by a whistling sound like a tiger descending from the mountains—unstoppable. Each palm strike contained immense inner strength, as if it aimed to tear Kim Tae-wook apart.
Kim Tae-wook dared not be careless; he quickly summoned all his strength to engage in an intense close-quarters battle with Park Bucheng. Their fists and feet collided with deep thuds, sending dust swirling and stones scattering throughout the mine. Although Kim Tae-wook was strong and robust, Park Bucheng's martial arts were far more exquisite and unpredictable, making it difficult for him to defend himself. He felt like a small boat in the vast ocean, at any moment on the verge of being swallowed by towering waves.
“Bang!” Park Bucheng struck Kim Tae-wook in the abdomen with a palm strike. Kim Tae-wook let out a muffled groan, bending over like a shrimp and retreating repeatedly. He felt as if his internal organs had shifted position; the intense pain made it nearly impossible for him to breathe.
“With such little skill, you dare to chase me?” Park Bucheng pressed forward relentlessly, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Today you'll learn what true strength is!”
Seizing an opening, he unleashed the Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms once more. The violent palm force poured out like an avalanche, striking Kim Tae-wook's chest fiercely. Kim Tae-wook felt an excruciating pain in his chest as if struck by a giant hammer; darkness enveloped him as blood spewed from his mouth like a kite with its string cut, sending him crashing to the ground where he struggled for a moment before falling still.
“Boss is magnificent!” Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon couldn't help but cheer upon witnessing this scene, their spirits lifted. They had initially feared for their lives but were astonished by Park Bucheng's prowess in swiftly defeating such a formidable opponent as Kim Tae-wook.
Park Bucheng knew he couldn't afford to be complacent; he was aware that the chaebol's pursuers would soon arrive and they needed to leave quickly. Taking a deep breath to calm the surging energy within him, he shouted to Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon, “Let's go!”
They ran wildly through the winding passages of the mine, which twisted and turned like a labyrinth. They occasionally encountered forks in the road, but Park Bucheng seemed intimately familiar with the terrain here, consistently choosing the correct path each time.
Finally, they reached the exit of the mine. The opening led into a dense forest, shrouded in darkness, creating an eerie and terrifying atmosphere. The shadows of the trees danced like phantoms, sending chills down their spines.
"Finally out!" Li Shunjae exhaled deeply, a hint of joy at having survived evident on his face. He wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling sore all over, but his heart was filled with excitement.
"Don't celebrate too soon; we're not completely out of danger yet," Park Bucheng said gravely, sensing a dangerous presence approaching. His instincts were usually spot on, and this time was no exception.
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, a flurry of gunfire erupted from the woods, bullets raining down on them like a storm. "Rat-a-tat-tat..." The gunfire pierced the stillness of the night, bullets whizzing past their ears and striking the surrounding trees, sending wood chips flying.
"Damn it! They were lying in wait here!" Choi Ji-yeon’s face paled as she quickly ducked behind a large tree. Fear filled her heart; just when they had escaped the mine, they found themselves in a new crisis.
Park Bucheng squinted, quickly scanning their surroundings and spotting several snipers hidden within the trees. Their positions were extremely concealed and difficult to detect. These snipers were clearly trained professionals, their aim precise and their coordination seamless, posing a significant threat to them.
"To hell with it! Let's fight back!" Li Shunjae shouted angrily, raising his submachine gun and unleashing a barrage of fire into the woods. "Rat-a-tat-tat..." The gunfire erupted again, flames licking out as bullets poured down like torrential rain, tearing through the trees and scattering branches and leaves everywhere.
Park Bucheng grabbed him firmly: "Don't be reckless! That will only expose our position and put us at a disadvantage." He took a deep breath, a glint of cunning flashing in his eyes.
"Since they like to play dirty, let's play along!" He picked up several stones from the ground, infused them with internal energy, and hurled them forcefully in different directions within the woods.
"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" The stones shot out like arrows released from a bow, accompanied by sharp whistling sounds as they accurately struck several snipers. Cries of agony rang out as some snipers fell to the ground.
"What’s happening?!" The remaining snipers were taken aback and hurriedly searched for the source of the attack. They never expected someone would use stones as weapons and hit them with such precision.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Park Bucheng led everyone out of the woods onto a small path. A black sedan was already waiting there, with Li Meili at the wheel.
"Get in the car!" Park Bucheng called out, and everyone quickly climbed inside. Li Meili pressed the accelerator, and the sedan shot forward like an arrow, disappearing into the night.
When Jiang Zhemin arrived with the remaining pursuers, all he found was an empty road and a few bodies of snipers lying on the ground.
"Damn it! They've escaped!" Jiang Zhemin roared in anger, punching a nearby tree trunk. He never expected that his carefully laid ambush would be uncovered by Park Bucheng, allowing him to flee.
Inside the sedan, Park Bucheng watched the scenery rush by outside, but he did not let his guard down. He knew this was only a temporary victory; a greater challenge awaited him ahead. The Chaebol's influence was vast and deeply rooted, and toppling them would not be an easy task.
He narrowed his eyes, a glimmer of determination flashing within them.
"Just wait, this game has only just begun!"
