I turned away, ignoring Shen Hao's roar behind me.
His voice faded into the distance, eventually disappearing altogether.
Yet my heart was remarkably calm, without a hint of turmoil.
In my past life, he had wounded me deeply.

I hurried down the corridor and entered the lounge.
I needed to collect my thoughts and figure out what to do next.
The lounge was empty, illuminated only by dim lights and filled with the scent of perfume lingering in the air.
I walked to the window, gazing at the bustling cityscape outside.
The skyscrapers sparkled with lights, and traffic flowed endlessly below.
None of this mattered to me.
I felt like an outsider, watching it all with a detached eye.
“Qin Wan, are you really going to break up with Shen Hao?”
A voice echoed in my mind.
It was another part of me, a timid voice.
“Of course.”
I answered without hesitation.
“But he is your manager after all.”
The voice continued, “Without him, you’ll struggle in the entertainment industry.”
“I don’t care.”
I replied coldly, “I would rather leave the industry than have any ties with him again.”
“But you still have dreams.”
The voice protested stubbornly, “You want to be a top star; you want to stand center stage and bask in the spotlight.”
“I know.”
I took a deep breath. "I will achieve my dreams through my own efforts, not by relying on anyone else."
"Are you sure you can do that?"
The voice carried a hint of doubt.
"I am sure."
I answered firmly, "I will definitely make it happen."
Just then, the door to the lounge was pushed open.
Su Man walked in, a mocking smile on her face.
"Qin Wan, do you really think you can escape from Shen Hao?"
She approached me, looking down from her height.
"You are too naive."
"You know better than I do who Shen Hao is."
"He won't let you go easily."
I stared at her coldly, saying nothing.
"Do you think you've won?"
Su Man continued, "You're mistaken."
"You've only taken a step ahead for now."
"This game has just begun."
"The final winner will definitely be me."
I let out a cold laugh. "We'll see about that."
"Qin Wan, you'd better pray that you won't regret it."
With that, Su Man turned and left the lounge.
I watched her retreating figure, a glint of coldness flashing in my eyes.
Su Man, do you think you're still the same Su Man from your past life?
You are mistaken.
I am no longer the Qin Wan of my past life.
I will not allow you to manipulate me any longer.
I will make you pay for your actions.
Taking a deep breath, I turned and walked to the mirror.
I looked at my young reflection.
My eyes were resolute, my gaze fierce.
I flashed a confident smile at the mirror.
I knew I would win.
I straightened my clothes and stepped out of the lounge.
Shen Hao watched me, his eyes filled with anger and resentment.
“Qin Wan, don’t regret this,” he said through gritted teeth.
“I won’t regret it,” I replied calmly. “The ones who will regret this are you.”
With that, I turned and walked away, ignoring Shen Hao completely.
I knew that my battle with him had only just begun.
