Listening to Li Yun speak, Shen Xin felt her face flush and nestled closer into Li Yunqing's embrace.
If it were Li Yunqing saying it, it wouldn’t be too surprising. Li Yunqing, with his old subway passenger face, looked at Shen Xin and asked, "What’s going on? I was just joking, did you take it seriously?"
Gu Qingqing, overhearing Shen Xin's words, widened her eyes in disbelief. "Sister Shen! What are you saying? Didn’t you say you would wait until I was of age?"
Shen Xin shot a glance at Gu Qingqing but remained silent. Gu Qingqing could tell from Shen Xin's expression that their previous conversation had likely been a way to placate her, only for Shen Xin to sneak off later.
In a fit of anger, Gu Qingqing lunged at Shen Xin, but with Li Yunqing's bed being spacious enough, both girls would end up tumbling off the edge if they weren’t careful.
Li Yunqing shifted the two girls' positions and then noticed Wan Hong standing obediently by the bedside, looking at him shyly, which he found rather endearing. He couldn’t help but reach out to pat Wan Hong’s head.
Wan Hong was definitely the most reassuring one. Hearing his praise made her lower her head even more as she quietly replied, "Thank you for the compliment, Li Yunqing!"
Just then, Shen Xin, who was being pinned down by Gu Qingqing, caught sight of this scene and subtly indicated something about Gu Qingqing.
Gu Qingqing turned to see what Shen Xin was hinting at and exclaimed, "Hey! Wan Hong has snuck away again!"
However, looking at the shy Wan Hong and then back at Shen Xin, whose face was flushed from being tickled, Gu Qingqing concluded that Shen Xin posed the greatest threat!
So she continued to tickle her.
"Hahaha! Stop tickling me! Hahaha! Wan Hong is stealing your attention from Li Yunqing! Hahaha! Why are you bothering me instead of her? Hahaha!"
Wan Hong blushed and protested, "You promised me that we would talk about this when I grow up! I will definitely not be like you and deceive people! Hmph!"
Gu Qingqing’s words reached Wan Hong’s ears. Wan Hong shyly glanced at Gu Qingqing before turning her gaze back to the lively scene with Li Yunqing and leaned closer into his embrace.
"I'm sorry, Gu Qingqing, but I really like Yun Qing Brother," she confessed.
Li Yunqing looked at Wan Hong as she nestled into him with some surprise. Wasn’t she supposed to be shy? Why was she being so forward now?
However, he didn’t dwell on it too much. Looking around the room, he realized that there would be no more napping for him today.
"What time is it? Are you all free this afternoon?" Li Yunqing asked, drawing the attention of the two girls who were playfully wrestling on the bed. At that moment, Shen Xin had already turned around to sit up, glancing at Li Yunqing.
"What's wrong? Are you trying to kick us out, Xiao Yunqing?" Shen Xin teased, continuing to playfully pin down Gu Qingqing beneath her.
"No, I just want to take a nap while you two are on the bed," Li Yunqing replied, scratching his head. He didn't intend to chase away the three beautiful girls.
Shen Xin chuckled, "You can still sleep; we can keep you company."
Li Yunqing looked at Shen Xin's smiling face and then at Gu Qingqing, who was panting beneath her. "Forget it, you can have the bed. I'll go to the living room," he said, heading toward the living room.
Wan Hong followed closely behind him as they made their way out. Shen Xin squinted at Wan Hong trailing after Li Yunqing, noticing that she seemed a bit uncomfortable, as if pricked by needles.
She then glanced down at Gu Qingqing, whose eyes were glistening with tears and cheeks flushed. "Come on, don't let Wan Hong take the lead," she said before stepping out of the room.
Gu Qingqing remained on the bed for a moment longer, still catching her breath. As her breathing gradually steadied, she began to notice a faint scent in the air.
