Although the magic book was given to Ma Yi, Li Yunqing still had two spare copies. She had initially thought about letting Sera and Lilu Lu learn as well, but after considering that they didn't enjoy reading, she hadn't given them the books until now. Now, with two students ready to learn, it seemed like a good opportunity.
Glancing at Ma Yi, who was quickly flipping through the magic book, Li Yunqing returned to the living room and sat down next to Zhi Ye.
Seeing Li Yunqing arrive, Zhi Ye handed her a bag of chips. "Want some?"
"No thanks, you go ahead. How much have you read?"
"About halfway through. There's still San Ying left."
Li Yunqing nodded at Zhi Ye's words. The last few conversations had mostly been about the future ten years later, where her appearances were fewer.
"Really? Am I not the main character?" Li Yunqing asked.
Zhi Ye tilted her head and looked at Li Yunqing. "Once you're the male lead's wife, you'll just be at home raising kids."
"Oh? That doesn't sound too bad," Li Yunqing replied, noticing Zhi Ye's smile as she looked at a character in an anime that resembled her.
Seeing her happy expression made Li Yunqing reach out and pat her head. "Do you like having a daughter?"
"Yes! I love having a daughter!" Zhi Ye said excitedly.
"Then should we have one?" Li Yunqing smiled at her.
"Have one?" Zhi Ye glanced at Li Yunqing, noticing his smiling face and recalling his earlier words, her cheeks flushed slightly.
If life were to involve a conversation with Li Yunqing, it wouldn’t be too bad.
Zhi Ye's voice grew softer, eventually fading to a whisper like the buzzing of a mosquito. Yet, Li Yunqing still heard her clearly. He smiled and pulled Zhi Ye into his arms.
At one point five meters tall, Xiao Yagui seemed tiny in the embrace of Li Yunqing, who stood at one meter eight, resembling an elementary school student. Zhi Ye settled into Li Yunqing's lap, shifting slightly to find a comfortable position. She turned around and peeked at him, only to meet his gaze.
"Hmm?"
Hearing Li Yunqing's questioning sound, Zhi Ye shook her head.
"No, no, it's just... am I heavy? Will it tire you out?"
Listening to Zhi Ye's words, Li Yunqing chuckled and gently ruffled her hair.
"Not at all! Xiao Yagui is very light—small and soft. It's quite nice."
"Then I like being held by you too," Zhi Ye replied.
Because Zhi Ye was smaller, there was plenty of room for her in Li Yunqing's embrace, which made her feel secure. Additionally, he had a unique floral scent mixed with other fragrances that she adored.
Zhi Ye picked up the tablet beside her and continued watching, occasionally munching on potato chips and sometimes turning around to offer some to Li Yunqing.
Li Yunqing glanced at Zhi Ye and thought that just eating chips wouldn’t do. He pulled out a variety of snacks along with some fruits and drinks.
Seeing Ma Yi engrossed in a magic book, he called out, "Ma Yi, come take a look! The sofa is comfortable; you should drink some water too."
Hearing Li Yunqing's voice, Ma Yi snapped back to reality and turned to look at the living room where there were plenty of snacks and drinks on the coffee table.
"And you’re holding Zhi Ye too? How did you manage to hold her without me noticing?"
