Only the Strangers had emerged from the water, but there were deeper things lurking beneath. Li Yunqing had no intention of getting involved too much; after all, he was just here to enjoy himself in this world, and whatever changes occurred had nothing to do with him. He glanced at the sky, chose a direction, and moved on.
Days passed. Sera and Lilu Lu were not just selecting opponents in the starting city anymore. After defeating the Strangers in the starting city, they separated and began to raid the surrounding cities. News of Sera and Lilu Lu spread quickly; most opponents surrendered immediately without a fight, while others who resisted were swiftly defeated and then sought to learn about their backgrounds.
They soon discovered that Yunqing Securities had just been established. Although they were unsure if it was connected, the name Yunqing Sect sparked some recognition. Regardless, Sera and Lilu Lu had made a name for themselves under the banner of Yunqing Sect, gaining notoriety in several starting cities. As their reputation grew, so did the awareness of their strength and the news of Yunqing Sect spread to various major factions.
Within Zheng Yi Sect, Longhu Mountain, and Tianshi Mansion, the Old Celestial Master listened as his disciples discussed information about Yunqing Sect and analyzed the abilities of those two women. He rubbed his forehead in thought. Were they stronger than Lingyu? He was organizing the Luo Tian Da Zhan to ensure that Zhang Chulan could inherit the position of Tianshi from Longhu Mountain, allowing those who coveted Zhang Chulan to reconsider their intentions before taking action. Of course, it was also to ensure that Tianshi Mansion could maintain a legitimate Tianshi lineage.
The various Ten Lords factions also received information about Yunqing Sect, but discussions yielded little consensus. During a daytime gathering of the Ten Lords, they decided to expand participation in the Luo Tian Da Zhan to everyone interested. Additionally, Old Master Lu Jin announced that Tongtian Lu would be awarded as the final prize for the victor.
On Wudang Mountain, Yun Longzhang was practicing when he glanced over at Wang Ye, who was lying nearby. He scolded him lightly. "How can a disciple just lie around while their master is training? Get up!" With that, Yun Longzhang kicked Wang Ye awake.
Wang Ye fell to the ground and rubbed his head, looking at his angry master with a smile.
"Don't be mad, Master. Getting angry is bad for your liver."
Seeing Wang Ye's silly demeanor, Yun Longzhang felt a surge of anger rising within him. He stepped forward and delivered two swift blows.
Just then, his junior brother arrived unexpectedly.
"Wang Ye, Zushi Ye!"
Wang Ye, not daring to retaliate against his master, quickly broke free from his master's grip upon hearing his junior brother's call and joined him.
Later that night, unable to sleep, Wang Ye felt restless and decided to do some divination regarding the upcoming Luo Tian Da Zhan.
Upon entering the Inner Landscape, he noticed something different from the usual spherical answers; instead, there was a vague figure.
As if sensing something, the figure turned to glance at him. In that indistinct form, it seemed to smile.
That single glance hit Wang Ye like a heavy blow, causing blood to flow from all seven orifices.
Meanwhile, in another city, Li Yunqing was wandering around when he sensed someone divining about those around him. He took a look and realized it was Wang Ye.
Quickly, he blurred his own presence; if Wang Ye were to see him clearly, it would mean certain death for him.
It wasn't that Li Yunqing intended to kill him; rather, if Wang Ye saw something he shouldn't have, the backlash from the Inner Landscape would be devastating.
Exiting the Inner Landscape, Wang Ye felt utterly drained. Although bleeding from all seven orifices wasn't particularly serious, he gasped for breath as he pondered the vague figure he had seen within the Inner Landscape.
How could a mere glimpse of a smile leave him so severely impacted? Who was that person?
