The next morning, Kei Yunqing woke each of the four girls who were to compete in the matches.
"Get up! After breakfast, you all have to get busy," she called out.
"Ugh," several girls groaned. Except for Zhi Ye, who had just finished her rest, the others slowly stirred from their slumber.
Kei Yunqing chuckled at their sleepy appearances. "One by one, hurry up and take a shower. You have a match to prepare for."
"Okay," they replied, stretching lazily before heading to the bathroom.
Although the matches weren't particularly important to them, since they had signed up, they might as well give it their all.
After washing up and having breakfast, Kei Yunqing led them directly to the venue via teleportation.
Looking around, she noticed that most of the participants had already arrived. After all, many of the otherworldly beings were martial artists who valued physical fitness; early training was quite common among them.
In the center of the venue stood a small platform where a Taoist priest from Longhu Mountain was already waiting.
Perhaps sensing that enough people had gathered, he began to speak. "Ladies and gentlemen, the matches for the thirty-two contestants will take place across four different arenas. If you wish to observe all the matches, please stay here. The conditions of each arena will be transmitted live to this location. Through these four large screens, you will be able to watch everything."
"The first match will be Wang Ye against Tie Ma Liu."
Kei Yunqing and the others glanced at each other, uncertain about when they would take the stage. So, Sera and the others went to inquire with the Taoists about the match schedule.
Kei Yunqing and Lilu Lu were waiting in place. Zhang Chulan and Feng Baobao were preparing to watch the match of Feng Xingtong's sister, Feng Sha Yan, when they noticed Kei Yunqing and Lilu Lu standing there.
After a moment of thought, Zhang Chulan decided to approach Kei Yunqing.
"Hello, you must be from the Yunqing Sect, right? I’m Zhang Chulan; you should all know me," he said, scratching the back of his head.
Kei Yunqing smiled at Zhang Chulan.
"Of course we know you, who in the otherworld doesn’t know Zhang Chulan? I’m Kei Yunqing, the leader of the Yunqing Sect."
Upon hearing Kei Yunqing's words, Zhang Chulan took a serious look at him. Although the Yunqing Sect had been active outside, no one had actually seen who the leader was. Most people in the otherworld speculated that there was no leader at all. Just yesterday, someone had spotted members of the Yunqing Sect showing interest in a man, which led to the speculation that he was the sect leader. Zhang Chulan had only learned this from Feng Xingtong yesterday.
Looking at Kei Yunqing before him, he found him handsome with an indescribable ethereal quality but nothing particularly special beyond that.
"So you are the renowned leader of the Yunqing Sect! It’s a pleasure to meet you!"
Seeing Zhang Chulan's beaming smile, Kei Yunqing chuckled as well. If it weren’t for watching anime, he might have thought Zhang Chulan was a bit foolish.
Kei Yunqing waved his hand dismissively.
"Alright, no need for flattery. You’ll be fine in the end; the Yunqing Sect has no interest in Tianshi but is somewhat interested in Tongtian Lu."
Zhang Chulan's expression stiffened slightly upon hearing Kei Yunqing's words. However, he quickly adjusted himself and scratched his head again.
"Since Kong Yunqing has said so, if I can get Tongtian Lu in the end, I’ll give it to Kong Yunqing."
"That’s fine; it’s just for a look anyway."
Kei Yunqing nodded at Zhang Chulan's response. To him, Tongtian Lu wasn’t particularly significant; if he wanted a secret manual, he could easily obtain one.
Sera and the others were eager to acquire Yuan Ba Qi Ji. Zhang Chulan exchanged some pleasantries before leading Feng Baobao and Feng Xingtong to the venue at Feng Sha Yan.
Feng Xingtong observed Zhang Chulan's pensive expression, feeling somewhat puzzled. "Since the leader of Yunqing Sect has already stated they won't compete with you, why do you still look so troubled? You've just eliminated a whole bunch of enemies."
Hearing Feng Xingtong's words, Zhang Chulan shook his head and slapped his face lightly to appear more composed. The Yunqing Sect was unaware of the underlying issues; even if they had no interest in the Tianshi position, if they were interested in the Tongtian Lu, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to take it.
What if I refuse to give it to them? I have a feeling that if I don't comply, something significant might happen, and even the Tianshi might not be able to protect me.
Feng Xingtong was at a loss for words after hearing Zhang Chulan's concerns. "Then just give it to them. Besides, you already have the Qi Body Source Stream; having a Tongtian Lu won't do you any good."
Zhang Chulan glanced at Feng Xingtong and nodded in agreement. "Alright."
Lilu Lu turned to Kei Yunqing. "Darling, if we end up in a final showdown, won't it just be handed over to us if Zhang Chulan refuses?"
Kei Yunqing shook his head. "Let them handle their own issues at Longhu Mountain. As for the Tongtian Lu? If you want it, I can give it to you."
