Li Yunqing shook his head. Before participating in this trial, their teacher had clearly informed them of the dangers; if they came and died, it was their choice, and there was no need for sadness.
As the scene shifted, they found themselves in another setting where Li Yunqing was accompanied by another person. This individual had a faint musty smell to his soul, though it wasn't unpleasant.
Hu Tao sniffed and remarked, "You can tell if someone has killed by the stench they emit—how many lives they've taken and whether they're tainted by murderous intent. But he’s different; he hasn’t killed anyone. He’s quite innocent."
What followed was a display of combat between the two. The intensity was overwhelming; all three knew that someone capable of traversing different worlds could not possibly be weak. Watching Jiang Wang being knocked back time and again filled them with admiration.
He has such perseverance! Is he getting more excited? The musty scent of his soul was gradually fading away.
The three were conversing, but Hu Tao's voice was the softest, going unheard by the other two. However, Li Yunqing caught her words. The mustiness of his soul indicated that he had merely been existing; its disappearance signified that he had found his direction.
Li Yunqing remained silent, but his thoughts reached Hu Tao's mind. She turned to look at him, and he smiled back at her.
After the three had explored the entire realm of Demon Slayer, they withdrew from the virtual space. "How did we lose our memories? We were only in one world," they wondered, looking at Li Yunqing with confusion.
Li Yunqing shook his head. "I didn’t alter the flow of time; we’ve been here for quite a while now. Just look at how dark it’s gotten."
The three of them heard this and stepped outside, looking up at the sky. The stars were shining brightly.
"Go back; your families might be worried," one of them said.
"Alright, see you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow."
Knowing it was late and that their families would surely be anxious if they didn't return home, they decided not to linger any longer. After exchanging a few words, they headed back home.
Li Yunqing smiled as he watched them leave. "What a bunch of lovely kids."
In the following days, the three of them came to cling to Li Yunqing every day, wanting him to continue sharing memories with them. Li Yunqing would occasionally agree, but after all, each session took quite a long time, and he had his own matters to attend to. He had already missed several appointments with Zhongli.
Zhongli wanted to introduce Li Yunqing to the Qixing. Although he had faked his death and lost his public identity as the Rock King Emperor Zhongli, there were still a few people within the Qixing who knew he was alive—such as Ning Guang.
Ning Guang was exceptionally capable in her work. Since Li Yunqing and the others were foreigners and had long-term residency in Liyue, they needed to register. However, due to Li Yunqing's presence, their visibility had diminished significantly. Thus, they had not been discovered by the Qianyan Army. Recently, though, Ning Guang had heard many people mentioning a rumor about a man among six women and felt somewhat puzzled.
Naturally, she had someone investigate it and discovered it was related to Zhongli. She wanted Zhongli to introduce her to him.
Li Yunqing did not decline the invitation. However, in recent days, the three little ones had indeed become quite clingy; he had already missed one appointment with Zhongli.
