The sky was filled with Pea Cannons, pouring down like a tide upon the Brain Worms above. After releasing a few rounds of Zi Wu in resistance, the Brain Worms spat out two more Zi Wu before ceasing their attacks altogether. Instead, they commanded dozens of Dark Colossi to step out from the Zi Wu.
The Dark Colossi unleashed laser beams from their shoulders, sweeping across the ground in a desperate barrage. Instantly, a large number of Ground Spike Vines were obliterated by these Dark Colossi. This was indeed the weakness of the Ground Spike Vines; once discovered, they stood no chance against opponents who remained out of their firing range. The Ground Spike Vines had no means to retaliate and could only passively endure the assault. Close-combat plants all shared this vulnerability.
However, the Dark Colossi hiding outside had no way to evade Ye Feihong's ranged attacks. Despite possessing Energy Shields, these shields were not as effective as Zi Wu; a single Pea Missile could breach their defenses. A dozen shots from Peashooters could also break through. In just a matter of seconds, as hundreds of Dark Colossi exposed themselves, they were swiftly taken down by the mid-range firepower from Ye Feihong's farm.
Nevertheless, the Dark Colossi had fulfilled their mission. They had opened a safe passage for the Brain Worms. Their attacks on the Ground Spike Vines were not random; they were strategic and purposeful.
Ahead, there was a safety corridor fifty meters wide and over five hundred meters long. Hundreds of Dark Colossi were unleashing laser attacks, plowing through the ground like a super tiller. They turned over the entire area, annihilating all the Ground Spike Vines hidden beneath the surface.
Above the safety corridor, another group of Zi Wu appeared. Three Brain Worms led the remaining troops as they advanced toward Ye Feihong Farm. Although their numbers had dwindled to less than four thousand Dark Matters, only a tenth of what they had started with, the three remaining Dark Matters were their main force. Each Dark Colossus was far more powerful than hundreds of Dark Zombies.
In the Eagle Head Kingdom, Bei Ye focused intently on the screen, confirming once again that Ye Feihong's plants were still hiding underground. He immediately concluded that Ye Feihong had mastered a method that allowed plants to conceal themselves beneath the surface, evading detection by the Dark Matter's sense of smell. This was a significant advantage.
Human Farmers were reluctant to develop close-combat plants due to their poor concealment. Placed in front of the enemy, they would be unable to face the Dark Matter head-on, especially since the number of Dark Matter far exceeded that of Farmer plants.
In the depths of the Farm Owner's territory, there existed melee plants that possessed minimal offensive capabilities. One such example was the man-eating flower held by Ye Feihong, which had only made an appearance once so far and was among the rarest of plants in Ye Feihong's collection. This scarcity resulted in most of the Farmer's plants being ranged attackers, with only a few serving as supportive melee options. Consequently, when facing Zi Wu, they could only passively endure the onslaught.
No matter how powerful the Farmer was, when confronted by the Brain Worm, there was an overwhelming sense of helplessness. However, Ye Feihong had discovered a method to conceal melee plants right in front of the Farm Owner, preventing those Dark Matter from detecting them. This ability could turn the tide against the Brain Worms and was something every Farmer would desire to possess.
Without hesitation, Bei Ye made a phone call to the general of Eagle Head Kingdom, detailing Ye Feihong's situation and urging the military to find a way to effectively conceal these plants.
