In this back-and-forth dialogue, Lan Qingqing gradually came to understand Hou Yi's personality. Overall, Hou Yi was an impatient and rough man; he wanted things to be in his grasp, and if he felt annoyed or troubled midway, he would not hesitate to let go. This type of man was a first for Lan Qingqing. Although it posed challenges, it was also intriguing.

Deciding not to ask any more questions, she answered honestly based on her thoughts. "Sure, I'll be your girlfriend," she said, though unsure how long this relationship would last. "But let's agree that it can't affect my relationship with my husband."
Her tone became slightly firmer as she adjusted her strategy in dealing with Hou Yi. If she could win his heart completely, her future would be secure.
Hou Yi picked up his wine glass and smiled, glancing out at the view beyond the glass wall. Outside the restaurant, a familiar figure stood there. He looked at the figure with interest and smirked, "Is that your husband?"
Lan Qingqing quickly turned to look outside and was shocked to see Mo Kai Liang riding a small electric scooter, waiting outside the upscale restaurant! Parked nearby was Hou Yi's sports car, and there was Mo Kai Liang, shamelessly waving at her!
Embarrassment washed over her as she turned away, pretending not to recognize him.
Hou Yi deliberately exposed her lie. "That's your husband, right? I heard he works in military technology or something secretive?"
He almost laughed out loud; this woman was willing to weave any tale when it came to vanity.
Realizing she couldn't hide the truth any longer, Lan Qingqing decided to counter his remarks. "He's usually quite low-key and easygoing."
Hou Yi's expression turned cold. "So he's just standing outside watching us on our date? Should I invite him in so we can all have a good time together?"
After saying that, Lan Qingqing raised her head defiantly. "No need for that! He won't think too much of it; we're just having a normal meal together. He trusts me."
Hou Yi swirled his glass of red wine; it was clear that Lan Qingqing was lying. A few hours earlier, he had done some digging into her background and learned about Mo Kai Liang—her husband—who seemed to be nothing more than a shield for Ke Wenjie.
Besides, how could a so-called wealthy heir ride a small electric scooter to pick up a woman?
Suddenly struck by a mischievous thought, Hou Yi stood up and leaned slightly toward Lan Qingqing across the table. He grasped her chin and kissed her forcefully without warning.
The violent kiss left Lan Qingqing momentarily stunned.
Turning to glance at Mo Kai Liang outside the glass wall, it was evident that he was equally surprised but knew better than to overstep his bounds.
Lan Qingqing stared blankly at Hou Yi as he raised an eyebrow disdainfully. "Your husband doesn't seem to be reacting much. Is he really that pathetic?"
