Ding dong.
Xu Lie's phone rang, and upon opening it, he saw a message from Lu Youyou: "Is your foot better yet? It's almost been a week. Do you want me to buy some ointment for you?"
This time it wasn't just a text; they had added each other on a messaging app, similar to WeChat in Xu Lie's past life, allowing them to send messages without worrying about phone bills. This led Lu Youyou to become more persistent, almost like clocking in at work, as she checked in on Xu Lie's foot injury every day.
With such punctuality, it would be a shame if she didn't work in a factory tightening screws. Xu Lie was used to Lu Youyou's inquiries and felt no particular stir of emotion. He casually made a sarcastic remark that always drew laughter from the audience.

Her speed was impressive. Xu Lie pondered whether he should turn off the notification sound for new messages while replying with a question mark.
The audience could see on Xu Lie's phone that there was just that one lonely message.
"Xu Lie sent two words, and Lu Youyou immediately replied with two messages and a meme. No wonder Xu Lie wants her to work in a factory; with that speed, she'd be tightening screws in no time!"
"I can relate; my girlfriend does the same thing. I say one thing, and she replies with six."
"Wake up! You don't have a girlfriend! Boohoo! I'm so envious they can directly send messages to their partners!"
"A date? This is definitely a date! I'm shipping them hard!"
Xu Lie wasn't as excited as the audience; he still held some skepticism toward Lu Youyou. Today was supposed to be the day he planned to break into the Gene Repository. Was Lu Youyou inviting him out because she saw his foot was healing, or was she trying to interfere with his plans?
After some thought, it should be the former.
The past few days have been the same; the Smart Mini Robot has been deployed to monitor Lu Youyou, and Xu Lie has not detected any signs of leakage or unusual behavior from her. The police in Ancheng have not left any messages for Xu Lie, so as an ordinary person, Lu Youyou should have no way of knowing about his actions today.
Based on this assessment, it seems she is just in a hurry. Now that Xu Lie's leg has healed, he can go out, and I must keep an eye on him to prevent him from getting into trouble again.
