The Special Investigation Team was highly efficient; within five minutes, nearly all members had gathered in the Conference Room, with external members joining via video conference. The only delay was caused by Mo Mei Lin, who was escorting Lu Youyou.
Upon seeing Mo Mei Lin, Zhang Yutao asked, "How is it going?"
Mo Mei Lin understood what the team leader was inquiring about: the salary and internship certificate had been provided, and she had contacted Lu Youyou's father to inform him that she would be returning home. However, Lu Youyou's father was worried and insisted on coming to pick her up. Mo Mei Lin suggested that Lu Youyou wait downstairs for a while; she appeared to be in good spirits.
Zhang Yutao gave a knowing glance, prompting Mo Mei Lin to turn around and relay the details of Xu Lie's contact with Lu Youyou and the situation to the members of the Special Investigation Team.
Before anyone could reprimand Xu Lie for his arrogance or foolishness, Zhang Yutao took charge: "This is what we know. The suspect is hiding in General Hospital. The hospital is extremely sensitive; we cannot afford any mistakes!"
"We need to access the internal surveillance footage of the hospital immediately, as well as the street cameras surrounding it. We will send in the Plainclothes Team without alarming the ordinary people. We cannot disturb patients undergoing surgery; if absolutely necessary, I will contact higher-ups to order an evacuation."
"Additionally, we must prevent someone like Xu Lie from setting traps. The Bomb Disposal Team will confirm whether there are any explosives in the hospital or nearby parking lots. Other teams will depart five minutes later."
"For this operation, we will bring drones. The Plainclothes Team is authorized to carry stun guns and sidearms. If the situation becomes critical and we can ensure no civilians are harmed, they are permitted to fire."
Xu Lie's message left on Lu Youyou's phone essentially confirmed his identity as an Explosive Offender, meaning the Special Investigation Team would no longer refer to him as a suspect.
Everyone in the Special Investigation Team acted without hesitation, quickly mobilizing. Although it seemed exaggerated to consider shooting someone on site, which did not align with protocol, they shared Zhang Yutao's outrage at Xu Lie's choice of location. Given that Xu Lie had brazenly targeted a hospital, they couldn't afford to dwell on protocol.
Zhang Yutao felt particularly pressured; with demands from above for a timely resolution and public accountability for the suspect, how could they justify a shooting? How would they explain this to the public?
With Xu Lie choosing such a sensitive location as a hospital, Zhang Yutao found himself overwhelmed with concerns.
