As mentioned earlier, the payment for actors is determined by their evaluations. These evaluations are based on two aspects: one is the broader context of the television drama itself, and the other is the performance of the actor.
For instance, Xu Lie transformed what was originally a youth romance drama into a sensational hit. The audience watching from the danmaku comments expressed their excitement, indicating that it was even more thrilling than the original script, thus receiving high praise. In other words, even if Xu Lie does not personally appear on screen and instead operates behind the scenes, orchestrating events with financial influence to create explosive moments, he can still receive recognition. If he were to perform himself and leave a strong impression on the audience, that would enhance his evaluation even further. The combination of both factors leads to a higher rating and consequently more payment.
Xu Lie learned from the danmaku that the Special Investigation Team had already locked onto him, making it impossible for him to stay any longer. He raised his hand and said, "Teacher, I suddenly feel unwell." Yi Hui, who had been leading their internship tour of the equipment, waved his hand and continued explaining how the device worked.
Xu Lie paid no mind to the puzzled looks from several medical students around him and headed straight for the lounge men's room. At that moment, the elevator doors opened, revealing a tall person supporting a man named Guo Zi Lian as they stepped out. The tall person was wearing a Bluetooth headset and was speaking on the phone: "Don't worry, Uncle and I are at the hospital now; we’ll be able to see a doctor soon."
Guo Zi Lian appeared pale and weak despite being a robust-looking man; he could barely walk without assistance, taking uneven steps. Upon hearing urgent words through the headset, the tall person tightened his grip on Guo Zi Lian's arm. In an instant, the previously pale and feeble Guo Zi Lian transformed into someone who could stride forward without needing support, rushing towards the restroom.
Onlookers were left stunned. Was he in such a hurry to use the restroom? How badly must he have needed to go to run like that in such a weak state? Or perhaps this hospital had exceptional medical skills, prompting them to hurry lest they face long wait times?
While the bystanders were confused, the audience certainly wasn’t.
"The acting is so real; I almost didn’t recognize it was a Plainclothes Team disguise."
"Why are there only two of them? Didn’t Special Investigation Team Leader Zhang Yutao say that all three teams of the Plainclothes Team were coming?"
I guessed it must be a decentralized arrival at the building; after all, it would be too suspicious for three burly men to gather together for a check-up.
The camera began to flicker, and Xu Lie, hiding in the restroom, could clearly sense the lens moving back and forth. He deliberately waited for the camera to flash before making his move. With a graceful push of his left hand against the windowsill, he flipped himself out of the Lounge Men's Room window.
The audience barely had time to react with their astonished comments before the camera focused on a rope. The other end of the rope was tied to a faucet in the restroom.
As Xu Lie fell, the force of his descent first straightened the rope, then tightened it, and finally snapped the faucet clean off, sending it flying out of the window along with a spray of water.
It all happened in a matter of seconds; two members of the Plainclothes Team had already rushed into the restroom. Coincidentally, as the faucet broke free, a torrent of water erupted from the ruptured pipe, obscuring their view. Consequently, they were unable to confirm right away whether anyone was inside the restroom.
