In the afternoon, Xu Lie lay comfortably on the sofa, wearing a headset and immersed in a virtual reality game. Even watching the meeting recording at triple speed made Anthony's scalp tingle with discomfort.
Yet he had to endure it and extract a few key pieces of information from the lengthy discussion. From what was shared in the meeting, it was clear that the sudden appearance of the UFO had caused significant repercussions, even leading to production halts in many regions of the Great Federation. Many farmers and factory workers likely thought to themselves that aliens were landing right at their doorstep; why bother planting crops or tightening screws today? It seemed more appealing to join in on a celebration instead.
Xu Lie wasn't worried at all about being found by the Great Federation. Whether it was regarding the so-called third party involved in smuggling nuclear weapons or the UFO itself, it all felt unrealistic. The two Bionic Persons involved in smuggling Tactical Nuclear Weapons had no Character Backgrounds; they were essentially illegal entities from beyond this realm. It was impossible to trace any origins, especially since everything at the scene had been obliterated by a Tactical Nuclear Weapon explosion, turning it all to dust.
If there were technology to extract clues from the site of the nuclear explosion, we should have already left the Home Planet. As for finding UFOs, that seems even less likely; with technology so advanced, whether satellites or aircraft, it would just be a futile effort burning fuel.
Soon, the communicator beeped twice, indicating that Charles was requesting to join the channel for a conversation. Xu Lie agreed, and Charles's voice quickly came through: "Sir, Anthony is here as well."
On the side of the Serpent, contact was made with the Arms Company, and they were acting quite strangely. It was highly likely they intended to research armed UFOs. From two of his Bionic Person subordinates, Xu Lie gathered an overall understanding of the Great Federation's plans: why complicate things? Instead of letting them search aimlessly, it would be better for me to take the initiative; it was time for me to make my appearance.
