William's expression was invigorated, much like a fan starstruck by their idol, his eyes filled with excitement as he stared at Xu Lie's Light and Shadow. Rims, on the other hand, managed to maintain his composure, gazing blankly at the picture frame he had just picked up.
It was a palm-colored wooden frame, covered in a layer of dust, housing a selfie of Xu Lie. The fact that Xu Lie had actually left something behind was astonishing. Moreover, it hadn’t been discovered or taken by aliens? How was that even possible? How had he managed to evade Alien Technology?
Rims had almost lost hope, believing that if aliens had come here to abduct Xu Lie, they wouldn’t have allowed him to leave anything behind. To his surprise, the frame left by Xu Lie was boldly displayed on the nightstand.
When he first picked up the frame, there was no reaction. It wasn’t until Rims pressed on the photo that the Light and Shadow activated. He pressed the photo again, and mysteriously, without any switch, the Light and Shadow dissipated into thin air, dimming the master bedroom.
“Rims?” William turned back in dissatisfaction, only to see the Light and Shadow left by his idol. He desperately wanted to know what clues Xu Lie had left behind.
Rims wasn’t startled by William’s urgency; instead, he cautiously reminded him, “William, don’t forget!”
It was dusk—no, it had already passed midnight; technically speaking, it was last night’s dusk. The video projected by the UFO clearly showed that they were being monitored! This meant that there could still be alien surveillance equipment in this villa!
William paused for a moment before quickly reacting. As he turned his head slightly to the left, he exerted immense self-control to suppress the impulse to look around. He grabbed Rims and said, “Buddy! You’re right; I was too impulsive.”
The two hurried downstairs. William was brimming with enthusiasm while Rims wore a worried expression. Once they got into the car, Rims finally let out a sigh of relief.
After driving about two miles, William eagerly urged, “Hurry! Rims, is it safe now?” At this distance, they shouldn’t be under surveillance!
Feeling William’s urgency—after all, he was the new team leader while Rims was merely the Vice Captain—Rims found it hard to argue back.
He pressed on the photo again, and soon enough, the floating Light and Shadow formed an image of Xu Lie inside the car. The Light and Shadow stood awkwardly in a pose that seemed out of place. Xu Lie's feet appeared to be stepping onto the car's undercarriage while his head extended outside of the roof, rendering his face completely invisible.
Then the entire figure of Light and Shadow stood upright at the center console position as if it had glitched out of a video game.
The situation made William and Rims even more awkward, while the audience outside the world nearly laughed their abs off.
"Hahaha! This is too funny! It's a shame you two, William and Rims, aren't acting in a comedy film!"
"Without a head? Looking at it this way, Light and Shadow really does resemble a ghost."
"Tsk, it looks just like the legendary ghost. Do you think there's a possibility that the ghosts mentioned by ancient people were actually this Alien Projection Technology? Maybe aliens have been lurking among humans for thousands of years?"
"??? We came here to have a good laugh, and suddenly you're telling ghost stories?!"
Fortunately, Light and Shadow didn’t make any sounds; the real voice came from the frame.
Xu Lie's message wouldn’t float outside the car roof.
"My fellow humans, I know you are destined to search my dwelling and will inevitably discover this message."
William and Rims exchanged shocked glances as they drove. The natural voice of the real sequence was certainly much more pleasant than synthetic sounds.
But what astonished them wasn’t just that; it was Xu Lie's opening line: "My fellow beings."
