Upon entering the building, the staff members who had been waiting for them began to guide the students on a tour of the Gene Matching Room and other areas. Occasionally, they would share stories about couples who had found happiness through Gene Matching.
Xu Lie paid little attention to these anecdotes, while Meng Ling swiftly passed by him. Lin Yuanliang reluctantly turned his gaze toward Meng Ling, following Lu Youyou's line of sight. He nodded in affirmation and confusion, "Yeah, how do you know him?"
"My best friend's future partner is him!" Lu Youyou shared excitedly. "Unfortunately, she's too shy to come along with me to check out her future partner."
Lin Yuanliang finally showed genuine interest; no matter the world, people always enjoyed gossip. "What a coincidence! Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"
Lu Youyou puffed up her chest with pride. "I have a great memory! I glanced at my best friend's future partner's information just once—his photo and name—and I remember it perfectly. At least I’m sure about the name Xu Lie!"

He was well-versed in the script and knew that the Best Friend of the Second Female Lead had no significant role at all. There was no need to remember such details; instead, he felt a slight sense of insecurity as viewers praised his looks.
The company often made subtle adjustments to actors' storylines to ensure they fit well within the narrative—not through cosmetic surgery but by allowing Xu Lie to portray a younger version of himself.
The camera shifted back to Lin Yuanliang, who was preparing to say something nice about Xu Lie while trying to gather information about Lu Youyou's best friend when he heard staff calling his name.
The tour had concluded, and now students were taking turns collecting information about their future partners. Those whose names were not called could roam freely.
With Lin Yuanliang leaving, Lu Youyou suddenly felt bored; she only knew him—and oh right, there was Xu Lie too! Since she had already found her own partner, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to learn more about Xu Lie for her best friend.
Lu Youyou scanned the area and noticed Xu Lie alone as he turned a corner. Was he heading to the restroom?
After turning two corners, Xu Lie strolled leisurely down two hallways as if he were wandering through his own backyard, completely oblivious to the surveillance cameras above him.
During the previous visit, he had already chosen this corridor and had preemptively controlled a small robot to disable several cameras in the area. Only when he reached beneath the Smoke Detector did he call for the camera.
The company actors in Script World had some authority to manipulate the cameras, allowing them to summon, redirect, or block them for a period of time. Sensing the camera's arrival, Xu Lie hurriedly put on gloves and took out a lighter and a handful of napkins from his backpack.
With a soft click, a small flame flickered to life. He pulled out several sheets of napkin, ignited them, and casually tossed the burning napkin beneath the Smoke Detector, repeating this action.

What is that smell? Coughing, Lu Youyou thought about understanding Xu Lie better for her friend. Suddenly, she peeked around the corner and was struck speechless by the scene before her.
The temperature in the corridor gradually rose, and the flames reflected off Xu Lie's face. The interplay of light and shadow made his features appear more three-dimensional, as if one could see the hard angles of his face.
