"I’ve learned my lesson; I’m heading to the hospital right now!"
"What are you all paying attention to? Didn’t anyone notice that Xu Lie released something small that disrupted the surveillance? Is it some kind of high-tech gadget?!"
As the elevator doors opened, the nurse hurriedly pushed an empty transport bed out, seemingly fearing that the elevator was a monster ready to devour her, not daring to linger for even a second.
However, once outside, the nurse felt her legs weaken. She had been so frightened by the gun earlier that she was trembling, and after just a few steps, she stumbled. If it weren’t for the transport bed to lean against, she would have surely fallen.
Even so, the nurse showed no signs of stopping to catch her breath; no matter how weak her legs felt, she had to keep running! She didn’t even have time to pay attention to the notification sound from her phone indicating a transfer.
In her hurried escape, she drew the attention of two Undercover agents on the first floor. As she was about to exit through the back door of the outpatient department, one agent positioned himself on her left while the other approached from the right, surrounding her and blocking her path.
The agent on the left pulled out a stun gun aimed at the transport bed. Meanwhile, the other agent swiftly yanked away the blanket covering it and lunged forward, intending to follow their leader's orders and subdue Xu Lie's arms first.
The impact nearly split the transport bed apart.
"Empty? Where is he?!" one of the agents exclaimed in shock.
The other agent hurriedly asked the nurse, "Where was the person who was on this bed?"
At that moment, there was no light left in the nurse’s eyes; she couldn’t comprehend what she had done wrong to deserve such a series of unfortunate events. First, someone had pointed a gun at her, and now two burly men were pulling out guns as well.
What a disaster! Why was her luck so terrible? How did she get caught up in such an outrageous incident?
The two Undercover agents noticed that something was off with the nurse’s demeanor and exchanged urgent glances, both sensing her distress. However, they couldn’t intimidate or threaten her; that would go against their code of conduct.
"Please don't worry, ma'am. We are from the Special Investigation Team," the undercover officer said in a lowered tone to reassure her. "I apologize for startling you. May I ask, were you just pushing a patient? That person is the criminal we are after."
The scene shifted to Xu Lie, who was not in a hurry to exit the elevator. Instead, he pressed the button to keep the doors open and waited.
On the first floor, the undercover officer attracted the nurse's attention while also waiting for the Mini Robot to go out and disable the surveillance cameras. With the cameras in place, stepping outside would result in immediate detection; even if he wrapped his head in a scarf, he would still be targeted by members of the Surveillance Team.
It was better to wait until the Mini Robot had disabled the cameras before making a move. After all, since the Mini Robot had already been exposed to the audience, there was no need to hide it any longer.
With some time left, he could use his phone to transfer one hundred thousand to that nurse. After all, money from the Script World held no real value for Xu Lie anymore; it was just a pile of worthless paper. He considered it compensation for her mental distress.
In the lobby on the first floor, a few visitors noticed a small figure sliding across the floor. The little thing moved quite quickly—was it a toy brought by someone's child? This was the simple thought of passersby.
