Shui Laohu's premonition was correct; all the Sailors were not landlubbers. Even if they had been in the past, after Chen Tao's rigorous training, they had all become adept in the water. As soon as they activated the Cang Hai Jue, each of them could breathe underwater and move with agility, more lively than fish in the sea.
The Sailors splashed into the water, and within three seconds, they gathered like a school of fish drawn in by a fisherman, converging beneath a dozen pirate ships. According to Wu Qianchuan's strategies for training against enemies, several Sailors were specifically assigned to carry Hook Ropes.
As a Sailor emerged from the water, he excitedly unwrapped coils of hemp rope from his arm and waved them above the surface, embodying the spirit of a maritime whirlwind. Surrounded by well-trained comrades who shared an unspoken understanding, they quickly dove beneath the waves to avoid being struck by their own Hook Ropes.
The Hook Rope spun several times, gathering momentum before being launched into the air. In an instant, loud thuds echoed as Hook Ropes landed on the pirate ships from all directions. The Sailor tugged on the ropes slightly to ensure the hooks were secure before calling out loudly, “Everyone, climb up!”
Numerous Sailors immediately grabbed the ropes and began to ascend with ease onto the ships. These pirate vessels were quite small and shallow-drafted; after all, the Sailors usually trained on their own Giant Ship. Climbing onto such tiny crafts was a simple task for them.
This scene delighted the onlookers.
"Impressive! What a grand spectacle! Over ten pirate ships surrounded by Hook Ropes—this long shot from the director is beautifully done and truly spectacular!"
"These extras are really dedicated; jumping from such a high Giant Ship into the sea and then climbing onto pirate ships—what professionalism!"
"I can't see any special effects; it must all be real performances by extras. The effect is unbeatable; the budget is definitely burning!"
Seeing the Sailors swarm like ants, Shui Laohu grew anxious and shouted in frustration, "Damn it! Get out there and take down those officers!"
Shui Laohu knew that if they didn't act soon, it would truly be too late. Once surrounded by the Sailors outside the cabin, there would be no need for them to risk entering. The Sailors could simply guard the cabin door tightly and suffocate all of them inside without needing to engage in battle.
If they were even a bit ruthless, they could pour oil inside and set it ablaze; that way, there would be no need for a pirate funeral—they would simply scatter their ashes across the sea.
The pirates had already been terrified by the booming explosions and were too frightened to respond to Shui Laohu's calls for action. No one was willing to fight back.
Even some pirates, terrified to the point of wetting themselves, urged Shui Laohu, "Boss! We can't go out, we can't! We'll be struck by lightning!"
"That's right, Boss! Going out now is a dead end; we really will be hit by lightning! There won't be anything left of us!"
In the simplistic worldview of the pirates, they believed that their numerous wrongdoings had brought upon them the punishment of thunderous retribution. They were firmly convinced that being struck by lightning and ending up in pieces meant that even in death, they would face severe consequences in the underworld. No one wanted to risk their lives.
Frustrated, Shui Laohu picked up his weapon and directly threatened the fearful pirate, "Damn it, heaven! Damn it, lightning! Anyone who doesn't follow me will be cut down!"
"There’s still a chance to survive if we fight; staying here means none of us will make it out alive!"
The cramped cabin suddenly filled with the metallic scent of blood. Many pirates trembled in fear but refused to budge, thinking their boss had lost his mind. How could he dare to curse heaven and thunder like that?
Did he not fear being struck at any moment?
"Gods and Buddhas protect us," they thought. They hadn’t cursed Shang Cang; if lightning had to strike, let it only hit the boss. If it struck him, then it wouldn’t strike us!
Shui Laohu was so furious that he felt his temples might burst. He considered killing another man to force them into action when voices from outside began urging surrender.
