As the elevator ascended, Lu Youyou found herself alone, quickly positioning herself in front of the large mirror at the back of the cabin to check her appearance. Today marked the first day of University Report, and she couldn't afford to make a fool of herself.
The mirror reflected a stunning young woman of nineteen, her neat shoulder-length hair framing her face perfectly. The silky raven strands cascaded smoothly down her back. She wore a light gray half-open collared shirt, and to shield herself from the wind while riding her bike, she had thrown on a thin white checkered long-sleeve shirt.
Her black shorts added a touch of maturity to her look, making Lu Youyou appear slightly older, shedding some of her youthful innocence. The shorts accentuated her well-proportioned legs, giving her an elegant stature that radiated a unique allure in the mirror. No need for stockings; her natural charm was already captivating.
After confirming that her hairstyle was flawless and her clothes wrinkle-free, Lu Youyou leaned closer to the mirror, tilting her head to check everything one last time. Perfect! No stray hairs in sight!
As she heard the elevator reach the first floor, Lu Youyou snapped back to reality and lightly punched the air with her fist: perfect!
When the elevator doors opened, Xu Lie was greeted by the sight of Lu Youyou looking rather silly. He couldn't help but twitch at the corner of his eye; this silly girl was practicing boxing in the elevator?
Lu Youyou stood there, momentarily stunned like a dazed goose, staring blankly at Xu Lie outside the elevator, unable to utter a word. She truly hadn't expected to see him—the person she had been thinking about—suddenly appear right downstairs!
Wasn't he supposed to be busy with some biological research? Why was he here out of the blue?
Initially lost in her own world in the elevator, Lu Youyou felt a slight sting in her nose and didn't know why she felt a tinge of grievance. It was as if her brain and heart were at odds; while tears threatened to spill from her eyes, her heart raced with excitement.
A wave of joy surged from deep within her, creating a whirlwind of complex emotions that left Lu Youyou speechless, only able to gaze intently at Xu Lie. It was as if she intended for her eyes to convey all the longing and sentiments that had built up over time.
Xu Lie took an odd step forward, leaning slightly into the elevator as he pressed the button for the second floor before retreating to his original position. "You should go up and calm down for a bit."

Lu Youyou's eyes widened in disbelief. Did he really just say that? After such a long time apart, he wanted her to go up to the second floor to calm down before coming back down?
The elevator doors began to close slowly, and Lu Youyou suddenly panicked. She lunged forward, slamming into the doors with a thud before realizing what was happening.
She pressed herself against the elevator panel, frantically hitting the open button. Ultimately, the elevator did not move; the doors slid open, and Lu Youyou dashed out, gritting her teeth and glaring furiously at Xu Lie.
Her big eyes seemed ready to shoot fire. Xu Lie, however, was not one to indulge her. He looked down at Lu Youyou, who was so close he could see everything clearly. He could see her long, upward-curving eyelashes, the reflection of himself in her eyes, and even the deep longing hidden within them.
With a swift motion of his right hand, he wrapped his arm around Lu Youyou's waist and kissed her without hesitation.
Lu Youyou's scalp tingled; this was completely unexpected. Wasn't she supposed to confront Xu Lie and demand an apology, only to eventually forgive him with grace? How did it come to this? How did they end up kissing? This wasn't right!
