Anthony had crafted a hacking program that meticulously recorded the meeting's outcomes. It was intriguing—was the plan to eliminate all members of the Investigation Bureau and merge with the External Intelligence Agency? It seemed the initial strategy was progressing smoothly, marking a successful study of human nature.
Using his hacking skills, Anthony had already tracked down the addresses of every attendee. He easily bypassed all security protocols to spy on their movements. From his computer, he could see that one of the men competing for the director position was the same individual who had previously questioned Doctor Thomas about accountability.
This man urgently summoned the Think Tank, a group he financially supported. Although they were not qualified to participate in the meeting, they could provide him with better strategies and advice afterward. It was clear that those old geezers had it coming! They still fantasized about licking alien boots, hoping for eternal youth! They had even willingly responded to alien demands and targeted the Investigation Bureau!
Several members of the Think Tank exchanged glances, speechless. What could they possibly say? They knew that Anthony possessed a keen insight into worldly affairs, and when faced with the existence of Alien Life, their discussions seemed futile. Currently, they understood that most scientists believed humanity could not contend with Alien Life due to a vast technological gap. Furthermore, Alien Life appeared to be interested in studying human nature.
Beyond that, they had no useful intelligence to offer; what could they possibly contribute? The leader of the Think Tank cautiously inquired about their boss's intentions: "Ahem, Your Excellency, are you planning to comply with Alien Life's demands? You must tell us whether you intend to resist or submit; otherwise, how can we assist you?"
The man adept at deflecting blame refused to leave any traces of wrongdoing on himself and instinctively criticized, "How could that be possible?! Humanity cannot submit to Alien Life! Your current mindset is quite dangerous. If I hear any more dangerous viewpoints like this, I will regretfully have to dismiss you."
After asserting humanity's dignity, he shifted his tone: "I need you to provide me with some advice; I can't let all the credit be snatched away by those old fossils. As you know, I am competing for the position of director at the External Intelligence Agency. Merging with it and eliminating the Investigation Bureau would be a significant achievement. We cannot allow those who should have long since retired to steal this opportunity."
The expressions on the faces of the Think Tank members were peculiar, as if they had just consumed something distasteful.
The leader cursed inwardly, feeling frustrated that the other party had managed to finish speaking. Clearly, they were preparing to align themselves with extraterrestrials, actively cooperating with the aliens to target the Investigation Bureau, yet they insisted on spouting a bunch of grandiose nonsense to cover it up.
Fortunately, they had been through this enough times to know their boss's character. It was clear that the only one who remained pure and untainted was him—the light of humanity.
Cursing aside, for the sake of resources and the future, the Think Tank still needed to devise strategies. Who knew what the world would look like in the future? If their boss truly did align with the aliens, at least there would be some security for them moving forward. But what if he failed to make that connection? They couldn't think of any better solutions no matter how hard they tried.
Thus, regarding the merger of the Investigation Bureau and the Intelligence Agency, the Think Tank members eagerly spoke up and actively discussed: "Boss, we can secretly reach out to Director Anthony and inform him that Senior Management is planning to impose restrictions. We cannot defy Senior Management's orders and are unwilling to submit to Alien Life."
On this basis, they aimed to win over all members of the Investigation Bureau as allies and promised to provide them with certain support in secret.
