It was as if Xu Lie had come to a definitive conclusion: whatever was left behind would not fall into the hands of our fellow humans, but rather into those of Alien Life.
Xu Lie continued to leave messages, revealing the truth: Alien Life was deeply fascinated by the study of humanity. No matter what I did, even if detected by Alien Life, they would not intervene; instead, they anticipated the developments that would follow and recorded them. I could only speculate about the significance of this for Alien Life; it seemed to be something immensely valuable, a mystery currently beyond human comprehension.
Thus, even if I left a message, Alien Life would not easily erase it. They would keep it for humanity, hoping for future developments. This revelation sent shivers down the spines of William and Rims!
To be honest, when they had rushed out of the villa and driven far away to activate the frame, they felt a slight sense of triumph. They believed they had outsmarted Alien Life’s surveillance and had brought Xu Lie’s backup plan with them. However, from Xu Lie's description, it became clear that they were nothing but clowns; Alien Life might have seen everything and simply chose not to intervene.
In that moment, their fleeting joy plummeted into despair. The audience could empathize with their current feelings.
"I told you, alien technology is so advanced that it could easily detect Xu Lie's backup plan."
"Ugh, it's too difficult. I can't figure out how humanity can possibly fight against such an opponent."
"Exactly! Even our most powerful Tactical Nuclear Weapon seems incapable of destroying a UFO."
Utilizing the facilities aboard the UFO, Xu Lie continued his holographic projection: "Fellow humans, there is no need for despair. This is precisely where we have the greatest chance to turn the tide."
Just as I had done before, when accepting the final commission for a Tactical Nuclear Weapon, I reported to the Investigation Bureau and sent a letter to Serpent Strike. Alien Life did not intervene at all; they allowed everything to unfold freely because they wanted to see my ultimate choice.
For Alien Life, this was knowledge that needed to be studied and recorded. It allowed me to deceive them and ultimately detonate the Tactical Nuclear Weapon on schedule. This was the key to turning things around; as long as we made an unexpected choice in the end, we could deal a significant blow to these beings.
With that, Xu Lie's message came to an end, and Light and Shadow slowly dissipated in the vehicle. William felt a surge of hope in overcoming Alien Life; his heart raced with excitement as he pressed down on the accelerator, causing the car to speed up. Rims fell into silence.
Rims felt a heavy heart, unable to empathize with William, who was filled with hope. "Aren't you happy?" he asked. "This is vital information left behind by the fierce ones, enough to defeat the Alien Life!"
"We found it—no, you found it with your own hands!"
But Rims only felt exhausted. According to Xu Lie's message, only by making unexpected choices would there be a chance—note that it's a chance—to overcome the Alien Life.
Yet, could two collide and truly play smart? They hadn't even left their home planet, while the mysterious Alien Life could traverse star years.
With the Infants and Nian Ren embroiled in an all-out war, what could a clever move achieve? Even if they managed to pluck a few hairs from the Nian Ren, what difference would it make?
Rims was still torn, uncertain whether to flee or stay, feeling that running away would be futile no matter where he went. His mood was filled with negativity, and he sensed that humanity's arrival brought nothing but darkness.
