What if the Alien Life launched a massive attack? It would be the same everywhere, all would face the threat of Alien Life. It might be better to stay here, at least one could gather the latest intelligence to assess the situation. Anthony sighed: another storm was brewing.
While Anthony was deceiving the protagonist, Charles, the Imitation Human, was also caught in a whirlwind. Early this morning, Charles received a joint call from several Arms Tycoons, instructing him to control all members of Old John’s faction within the metropolitan area. They even sent him several lists. Old John was that Arms Tycoon and a traitor to the Military-Industrial Complex. The other Arms Tycoons were second-generation; only Old John, over a hundred years old, still clung to power and was reluctant to pass it on to the next generation. He yearned for longevity from Alien Life and thus cooperated with the Great Federation's Senior Management to execute fire suppression actions.
As expected, he was swiftly ousted from the coalition by all remaining Arms Tycoons and faced comprehensive retaliation. The most outrageous part wasn’t this; it was what several Arms Tycoons told Charles: make as much noise as possible and let Alien Life study them more. At first, Charles thought this was due to last night’s capture of Mi Ton, which had affected a few Arms Tycoons' brain functions. Come on, Alien Life intended to eliminate Arms Companies, and yet you want to cater to them?
It took some time for Charles to realize that it wasn’t just the scientists of the Great Federation who felt overwhelmed; the Arms Tycoons understood they were not a match for Alien Life either. Rather than facing annihilation while resisting Alien Life, they preferred to create a commotion. After all, wasn’t Alien Life studying collective humanity? So they aimed to manufacture collective incidents to provide value to Alien Life, hoping that their usefulness would prevent total extermination.
Thus, they incited their million employees to collectively petition for independence from the Great Federation. Wasn’t that enough commotion? Enough for Alien Life to study? Enough to show their value? After coming to this realization, Charles found himself both amused and exasperated; he didn’t even know what emotions his Intelligent Plugin should display. Anthony had once privately complained about how the Great Federation's Senior Management had crossed moral boundaries, suggesting that prolonged interaction could corrupt the Intelligent Plugin.
Charles felt a twinge of relief at that moment; at least at Arms Company, there weren't as many meetings and less fuss over responsibility. However, now the boomerang had come back to hit him on the head, and in just a few words, he was left with a subtle illusion that the Intelligent Plugin might be malfunctioning.
After ending the communication, Charles directly contacted Xu Lie to report this turn of events. Xu Lie, upon receiving Charles's message, seemed quite intrigued. With the company's method of crafting character backgrounds, they would never discover the connection between him and Charles.
Yet, he candidly revealed that Arms Company was quite anxious. Since there was no reliable way to contact him, they decided to make a big show of things. They aimed to create as much commotion as possible, informing all their subordinates in hopes that he would see and hear it, thereby sparing them from dire consequences.
They really trusted his surveillance methods? That was rather interesting. After having built up such an impression for so long, it was time for him to make an appearance again. He would go in person this time.
