The words of the Hawk Faction echoed throughout the online conference, reminiscent of ancient demons from myth, weaving seductive tales that enticed the hearts of many. Step by step, they incited humanity to commit one sin after another, ultimately losing their souls and sinking into an endless hell.
The camera followed closely, capturing scenes that sparked lively discussions among the viewers.
"To be honest, it sounds quite plausible. The Great Federation and Senior Management don’t seem like amateurs."
"Only children make choices; the big shots of the Hawk Faction want it all."
"Xie Te! So greedy? I heard similar stories when I was a child, and those who are greedy often meet a bad end."
It was hard to deny that the Hawk Faction's enticing vision of the future attracted a portion of the neutral faction. After all, why should they complete the tasks assigned by Alien Life and only receive a fraction of Alien Technology? Isn’t it better to simply seize everything from the Hawk Faction in one go?
Yet, there were also members of the Dove Faction who had not been brainwashed by the Hawk Faction: "Fack! Have you all forgotten?!" When UFOs first appeared over the metropolis, did you forget the Light and Shadow video? The massive Alien Fleet shown at the beginning? Do you think those fleets were merely decorations?
This was the true reason behind the Dove Faction's compromise; their desire for Alien Technology was just part of it. A larger factor was simply that they were unable to fight back! Currently, they could only launch satellites; their space capabilities were nonexistent. What could they use to battle the Alien Fleet?
How could members of the Hawk Faction possibly overlook this power of the Alien Fleet? Yet they had their own confidence: "Hmph! Did you think we hadn’t considered this? We’ve already contacted all major space nations’ astronomical observation institutions. At least within our solar system, no one has detected any Alien Fleet!"
This indicated that the research team from Alien Life had detached from their fleet and arrived on our planet. As long as we acted quickly and took advantage of the fleet's absence to master and digest Alien Technology, we would no longer need to fear the Alien Fleet!
Many members of the Dove Faction wore expressions of disbelief, completely unable to accept such reckless ideas from the Hawk Faction. "You’re all insane! With your tattered sock logic, you know full well that it’s unlikely we can grasp alien technology in such a short time!"
"I firmly disagree with this proposal!"
The members of the Hawk Faction sneered, completely unconcerned about the objections from the Dove Faction. "Disagree? What does it matter? We’ve already taken action against the Alien UFO. Even if you want to compromise now, can the Alien Life agree to that?"
This was precisely why the Hawk Faction acted first and held a meeting afterward.
The Dove Faction was even more infuriated; being dragged into this situation against their will was hardly a cause for celebration.
"We don’t care; you can just throw someone under the bus. This is our offer to the Alien Life, and it shows our sincerity!"
The members of the Hawk Faction could no longer maintain their mocking demeanor and began to look dumbfounded. They had seen thick-skinned people before, but nothing compared to the Dove Faction's audacity!
The argument between the Hawk and Dove factions escalated, with tables being pounded and objects being smashed, as neither side could convince the other.
In the end, it fell to the Centrist faction to mediate, though it was naturally ineffective.
This was a crucial decision, and they were determined to argue it out; how could they be easily persuaded otherwise?
The members of the Extraterrestrial Bureau who were observing the meeting had no opportunity to interject.
The Centrists participating online were getting a headache from listening to the chaos. In a bid to calm tensions, they reluctantly introduced a new topic.
"By the way, there’s something very important that requires your cooperation, Four Major Grain Merchants. With Alien Life appearing in the Great Federation, public panic has led to rising food prices and a significant reduction in supply."
"For the sake of social stability, we hope you can cooperate by keeping prices stable within the current range and preventing any further increases."
