At that moment, a massive and towering beam of light suddenly shot up into the sky! It was not hard to imagine that this magnificent sight was the result of the small orb of light thrown by Xu Lie exploding just moments ago.
After a few seconds, the beam of light slowly dissipated, and the world returned to its natural state. However, many of the wizards remained frozen in place, as if petrified, continuing to stand rigidly. Regardless of whether civilization pursued technological advancement or magical energy, knowledge held its value. First, he would crystallize this Evil Mage's soul and then gradually refine it, eliminating unnecessary memories and impurities to retain only the purest biological magical knowledge.
Many wizards who noticed Xu Lie's actions felt a twinge of fear and took a few steps back. The destructive power of the two spells he had cast earlier was terrifying enough; now he was toying with a person's soul. How was this any different from an Evil Mage?
Even Inquilinar, who had initially felt inexplicably uplifted by Xu Lie's Seventh Level Fire Magic, began to waver. He couldn't help but stare at Xu Lie's thick black hair. "Mr. Xu Lie? What are you doing?"
Xu Lie feigned indifference, maintaining a facade of gentleness. "Please do not misunderstand; it is a simple principle. Mr. Inquilinar, do you believe an axe is inherently just or evil?"
Before Inquilinar could respond, Xu Lie answered his own question: "An axe is neither good nor evil. A woodcutter uses it to chop wood for survival, while bandits use it to harm others and rob them."
Knowledge is similar; mastering knowledge to help more people is just, while using that knowledge to harm others is evil. I found that the Evil Mage's magical transformations were intriguing and contained rich magical knowledge. Perhaps I could transform the knowledge about developing wings and scaling skin into magic that everyone could learn without needing to alter themselves.
This way, all wizards could freely soar in the blue sky and possess certain defensive capabilities. Xu Lie's words were met with initial approval from the audience.
He wasn't wrong; knowledge knows no good or evil. Nuclear weapons can kill countless people, while nuclear power plants benefit thousands of families.
I agree with Xu Lie's viewpoint: people can be good or bad, and the actions taken with the same resources will undoubtedly differ depending on who wields them.
No wonder Xu Lie wants to establish a school; it seems that wizards truly need education now. At the very least, their understanding should be broadened.
Inquilinar was also persuaded by Xu Lie. If it were the previous Xu Lie, he would have acted too grandly.
He freely shares his self-created Meditation Method and plans to found a school to share more knowledge from the Magic Books he transcribed from the Gate of Truth.
With these two foundations, supported by the irrefutable notion that knowledge is neutral, even occasionally dealing in Soul Crystals—especially those from Evil Mages—people can still accept it to some extent.
Moreover, a few younger wizards, like Beck, are even more eager for this development. They look forward to Mr. Xu Lie researching the knowledge of Soul Crystals soon, allowing them to experience the sensation of flight.
