The wizards above the flying ship were utterly bewildered by Xu Lie's actions, falling into a state of speechlessness. Meanwhile, the audience in the Dimension Outside was incredibly lively, with Danmaku erupting once again.
"This special effect is amazing! Does this show have such a generous budget for large-scale magical effects?"
"Fantasy dramas should be like this; spending money on special effects makes it visually appealing."
"But is it really necessary to greet each other like this? Starting off with several thunderbolts to the face—who can withstand that?"
Reiner struggled to maintain his composure, pointing at some charred patches of land below, his lips twitching. "Xu Lie, this... this isn't right!"
Unconsciously, Reiner found himself sharing an emotional resonance with a certain audience member. What was wrong? Xu Lie, while admiring his own magic, took the opportunity to educate the teachers from his school: "Don’t misunderstand. When I told you to greet them, I didn’t mean to say hello; I meant for you to showcase your strength and intimidate the mundane."
Only by making the kingdom aware of the gap between themselves and magic would they eagerly come to learn it and actively cooperate with our Enrollment efforts. As he spoke, Xu Lie noticed that many wizards still looked confused and couldn’t help but chuckle. "You’re just too naive. Most of you spend all your time delving into the mysteries of magic, completely unaware of the wickedness in human hearts."
Those kings and ministers are all dark-hearted individuals; they might use the pretense of cooperating with Enrollment to trick you into becoming their pawns or deceive you into doing other things. Some might even go further—pretending to cooperate while secretly plotting poison or assassination. One careless move, and you could lose your life; they would then collect your belongings for research.
After hearing Xu Lie's words, the wizards began to imagine various treacherous ambushes and grim fates. They couldn't help but shiver, with several breaking out in cold sweat.
Let’s not forget that wizards are generally high on offense but low on defense. Even though magical energy circulates within their bodies, it doesn’t change their flesh and blood. Essentially, they remain mere mortals; a critical hit could still lead to death. Unless one undergoes transformations like the Evil Mage or utilizes defensive spells derived from scales extracted by Xu Lie from the Evil Mage.
The problem is that these scale spells also need to be activated in advance for defense; one careless moment could easily result in being poisoned or assassinated by an ordinary person.
Inquilinar interjected, "What Xu Lie says is not unfounded. During my travels across the continent, I indeed encountered the treachery of human hearts. However, there is also beauty in humanity; everything has two sides, just like us and the Evil Mage."
Not all wizards can be said to be just, nor can all be labeled as evil. Under the words of Reineshlet and my old friend Inquilinar, nothing more was said, yet I couldn't help but feel a wave of sarcasm rising within me.
In the eyes of everyone in Golden Sun King City, we, the wizards who met on the Flying Ship and unleashed our fury, were undoubtedly seen as evil. Xu Lie observed that the other wizards accepted his words and nodded in satisfaction. "Therefore," he continued, "rather than wasting time engaging in idle chatter with those kings and ministers, it would be better to directly demonstrate our overwhelming power. Only then will they understand the gap between us and comply without causing trouble."
His words resonated with the audience, and supportive Danmaku flew across the screen.
"Xu Lie sees through it all. If a wizard were to go off alone, those kings and ministers might very well send someone to assassinate them to gain control over magic."
"Hahaha, it's not just Xu Lie who sees clearly. If you had watched last season's show featuring Xu Lie, you would understand why. He himself was nearly assassinated last season while wielding Alien Technology."
