With a sense of admiration, Reiner spoke of Xu Lie's achievements, leaving all the students with a genuine impression of the principal for the first time. No longer was he just a lofty figure wielding authority; he had become a creator of truth, a benefactor who made it possible for ordinary people like them to aspire to be magicians.
In an instant, the classroom was filled with praises for Xu Lie. Coincidentally, the same situation unfolded in other classrooms as well. The teachers had long agreed that every cohort of students needed to remember Xu Lie's contributions and accomplishments.
Seeing the enthusiastic response from the students, Reiner gained confidence in his teaching and began to explain the Meditation Method in detail, striving to make it clear and comprehensible. He encouraged any questions, inviting students to raise their hands if they had doubts.
This scene made the onlookers feel a chill run down their spines.
"Raising hands to ask questions reminds me of high school classes," one commented.
"Don't say that! After finally getting a Sunday off to relax at home and catch up on some shows, I find myself experiencing this deadly classroom atmosphere. Someone save these kids!" another replied.
"Haha, once you graduate, you'll miss it! Watching Reiner teach makes me think of our homeroom teacher, who was a great instructor," someone else chimed in.
The audience continued to send their comments enthusiastically while Reiner devoted himself entirely to teaching. After addressing the students' questions, he instructed them to drink tea and meditate.
The leaves of the Starry Tea Tree, combined with ice magic, produced a tea that was slightly diluted for meditation purposes through magical research. The Meditation Method posed no danger; all one needed to do was close their eyes.
To further encourage student participation, Reiner utilized resources brought back by Xu Lie: "Alright, everyone, let's begin meditating now. Our principal, Mr. Xu Lie, has set up various rewards to stimulate your enthusiasm for independent learning."
Students who performed well throughout the term could earn scholarships at the end of the semester. Moreover, during each important class, rewards would be given to those who finished first.
"The importance of the Meditation Method doesn't need repeating. I announce that the top fifty students in our class who successfully meditate and gather magical energy will receive a reward of three thousand gold coins."
These were coins from your kingdom—whether they were from the Golden Sun Kingdom or Silvermoon Kingdom, it amounted to three thousand!
The students' eyes lit up with excitement; they were practically drooling over this reward. Three thousand gold coins! Even students from noble backgrounds couldn't help but be tempted; their usual allowances were nowhere near that amount! Let alone those from commoner backgrounds—this was a sum they had never seen in their lives!
Now, all that was needed was meditation skills to strive for a place in the top fifty of the class and earn a reward. Who wouldn't be excited? Who could remain indifferent?
The quick-reacting students closed their eyes at lightning speed, focused their minds, blocked out distractions, and began to meditate wholeheartedly. Meanwhile, the slower students were still raising their hands, asking, "Is this for real, Teacher Reiner?"
Only after receiving a positive confirmation from Reiner did they hurriedly start their meditation.
Reiner began patrolling the classroom, quietly approaching any student who opened their eyes and gently inquiring if they needed guidance. This helped shift the atmosphere from those who were either avoiding the class or reminiscing about their youth to a united front.
"Is this really that great? Just being in the top fifty can earn you three thousand? Man, if I had such luck in high school, I might have actually forced myself to study."
"Ah, envy and jealousy! Why don’t we have this kind of fortune? If I did, I would definitely make it; there are only about forty people in our class."
"I don't miss it anymore. Schools are just so different. It makes me mad to think about it; the school next door installed air conditioning ages ago, and ours? As soon as we graduate, they’ll put in air conditioning. Just thinking about it makes me furious."
