In the cafeteria, only one Magic Mirror teacher remained, along with all the First-Year Students. The First-Year Students gathered inside, both anxious and excited as they watched the enlarged Magic Mirror. The Magic Mirror was broadcasting the ambush by the Advanced Students, igniting a passionate fervor among the First-Year Students, who were eager to join the battlefield and launch their own ambush.
"Wow, it seems like the Magic Mirror can actually serve as a live broadcast tool?"
"With thousands of students in the cafeteria watching in real-time as the Senior Students confront the Evil Mage, it really creates an atmosphere!"
"If I were one of the Senior Students, I would be so nervous! Facing off against the Evil Mage in my first battle, worrying about making a fool of myself in front of the Younger Students—it would really affect my mindset."
As the Danmaku flowed by, what should have been a dawn breaking sky turned back to gloom, as if some force had forcibly extended the darkness. Drizzles of rain began to fall from above, quickly intensifying and blurring the distant view.
The black mist had a strong sense of perception; after closing his eyes for a few seconds, Inquilinar reopened them: the Evil Mage was quite generous; it must be some kind of precious weather magic guiding this downpour. There weren't many fluctuations in magical energy; under normal circumstances, it would easily be mistaken for regular rain.
Inquilinar looked down at the Xun Pan in his hands, where four marked points of light were moving towards Truth School along with the rain. With an understanding of the Evil Mage's movements as clear as reading lines on his palm, combined with the unlocking of the black mist, there was an inexplicable sense of humor about it all.
At that moment, Inquilinar couldn't help but chuckle: "Ahem!" He forced back his laughter and patted Beck on the shoulder. "Are you scared?"
Beck's face was full of excitement as he held onto his Xun Pan tightly, his eyes seemingly sparking with fire. "Not scared at all! After studying magic for so long, I'm just excited!"
Unintentionally, Beck received another slap on the back of his head from Inquilinar. Rubbing his ears in pain, Inquilinar sighed at this apprentice's loudness and continued to educate him with words that included warnings about sticking close to the teacher if he was scared.
This only made Beck more displeased.
Xu Lie didn't interrupt this master-apprentice duo; instead, he raised an eyebrow and turned westward. "They're coming."
The camera shifted accordingly.
Under the cover of dim light and rain, from the west side of Truth School, a mass of serpentine creatures surged forth! Red ones, purple ones, blue ones—large and small—flowing in like a tide.
If it weren't for the dim lighting, the audience of Dimension Outside would likely be able to see the psychological shadows cast upon them. Snakes, by their very nature, are unsettling creatures, and when gathered in large numbers, they can evoke a form of herpetophobia.
The viewers expressed their discomfort through a flurry of Danmaku, yet Inquilinar and Beck showed no signs of fear. The master and apprentice charged forward together, heading westward, each summoning flames with outstretched hands.
The flames surged toward the Serpent Tide like a torrential downpour. The Idealism Magic treated the rain as if it were nonexistent, completely unaffected as it crashed into the Serpent Tide, resulting in a series of explosive bursts.
Instantly, the aroma of roasting meat filled the air. The magical flames ignited the vegetation on the ground, creating two massive walls of fire that stood before and behind them. This completely obstructed the path of the venomous snakes; they were mere mundane creatures driven by magic and lacked the physical strength to breach the magical flames.
The Seventh Level Fire Magic caused She Lao, who was hiding further back to the west, to grimace in anger. "Old Man's fortune! Damn it! The flames are burning everything; even the snake venom has lost its potency!"
