However, even though being the Blood Clan Leader is not a desirable position, many within the blood clan covet it. Only the Blood Clan Leader can meet the Blood Ancestor and uncover more secrets of the blood clan. Ultimately, during an outing, Monroe's father was ambushed and barely managed to return to the castle alive.
After Monroe's father was injured, they realized the gravity of their situation. Although members of the blood clan are immortal, there are countless ways to kill them. The Clan Leader merely wanted Monroe's mother to bear him children; if she could not conceive, perhaps this turmoil could be resolved. After much deliberation, Monroe's mother decided to have one child and then take medication to ensure she would never bear children again.
Thus, Monroe was born. Shortly after, her mother took the medicine and became infertile. They thought this would put an end to their troubles; however, upon learning of this development, the Blood Clan Leader flew into a rage and imprisoned Monroe’s parents in the forbidden grounds under baseless charges.
To escape the clutches of the Blood Clan Leader, Monroe had no choice but to publicly claim that she was Count Smithan’s daughter. For twenty-two years she lived peacefully under this guise as she grew up with revenge burning in her heart. Yet she knew that with her current strength, avenging her parents was impossible.
In time, Monroe devised a comprehensive plan for revenge: if she could bear a son and ensure he became a Blood Child, then when he ascended as the next Blood Clan Leader, she could unlock the forbidden grounds and free her parents—revenge would soon follow.
