He Jiao was from Ningzhou and was very beautiful. She attended university in Han Cheng, where she had a boyfriend named Cheng Wei. Cheng Wei was a shy young man, so he didn’t dare to make any moves on He Jiao.
One weekend, He Jiao accepted an invitation from an elementary school classmate and took Cheng Wei back to Ningzhou to meet up with a few friends. The gathering took place at noon, and after eating and drinking, the two left the hotel. Cheng Wei thought He Jiao would take him for a stroll around the streets of Ningzhou, but He Jiao exclaimed that she was tired and wanted to find a place to rest.
“Cheng Wei,” He Jiao boldly suggested, “would you accompany me home? I’m the only one there.”
Cheng Wei was unaware that He Jiao's family was abroad and had never heard her mention it before; he readily agreed. Just then, they spotted a stall selling Shaojiu Snail, and He Jiao excitedly said, “Wow! I want to eat Shaojiu Snail.”
The stall had nearly run out of Shaojiu Snail, but Cheng Wei quickly paid for the last few servings. He Jiao was thrilled and they walked to the curb where they hailed a taxi to her home.
Upon arriving at He Jiao’s house, she realized she had been away for several days and hadn’t prepared anything in the fridge. She hastily grabbed some drinks for Cheng Wei and asked him to sit in the living room while she changed into a comfortable loose-fitting dress. Afterward, she took out the large bag of Shaojiu Snail and led Cheng Wei up to her rooftop.
Her rooftop featured a flower rack adorned with Bougainvillea, not too dense or sparse. Underneath the rack, there was a hammock strung between the pillars, along with several white plastic chairs and a small round table scattered nearby.
He Jiao moved the round table next to the hammock, spread out the bag of Shaojiu Snail on top of it, and nudged a chair over for Cheng Wei to sit. She then jumped onto the hammock, happily swaying as she picked up snails to suck on. Cheng Wei sat beside her feet, watching her playful and charming demeanor with a silly grin.
As they chatted, He Jiao casually tossed the empty snail shells onto the ground. Each Shaojiu Snail had a small round shell, and He Jiao deliberately spat them out in different directions. Cheng Wei found her every gesture incredibly adorable and couldn’t help but stare.
While eating, He Jiao unconsciously curled her knees and leaned toward Cheng Wei’s side. She continued picking at the snails on the table without acknowledging that her posture might reveal more than intended. Cheng Wei felt his heart race.
From his position, he could catch glimpses of He Jiao’s thighs peeking out from beneath her short skirt. Although he felt shy about lingering his gaze inappropriately, he often found himself looking at her feet clad in short socks; even those were captivating enough for him.
Now that He Jiao had crossed her legs, the springtime allure beneath her short grayish-white skirt was undeniable. How could he look away? Her smooth white thighs and the curve of her hips supported by pale yellow underwear presented themselves beautifully before him. So close that he could see how the hammock pressed into her flesh in certain places, creating enticing contours that made his heart ache with desire.
He felt overwhelmed by temptation; his mouth dry and heart racing as he quickly picked up the drink He Jiao had given him and took a nervous sip.
He Jiao noticed his reaction but continued to smile and chat with him, pretending not to notice what lay beneath her skirt while still savoring the Shaojiu Snail.
