Yu Songyu sat down beside her and noticed the many pictures of plants on her computer desktop, along with various specimens displayed around.
"What are you up to?"
Yu Songyu picked up one of the samples, feeling a sense of familiarity. Wasn't this what they had brought back from the mountain last time?
"I'm making money to support you! Hahaha! I was thinking, we have so many interesting things in our space; we need to find a way to turn them into cash. Otherwise, how can we realize our dreams?"
"So, have you found a way to get rich?"
Yu Songyu watched her with great interest. This girl was quick; before she could even make a move, she was already organizing everything.
"Do you know? These are all valuable items! Some are medicinal herbs, and others are rare or even extinct fungi. I've already contacted herbal merchants and botanical gardens; we just need to get them into the space. Hurry up and get me in!"
With a wave of her hand, Yu Songyu sent Bai Jie and Xishi Dog directly into the space, following closely behind herself.
"What about my son?"
Bai Jie pulled out a bag of dog treats and looked around but couldn't find her dog anywhere.
Using her mind, Yu Songyu scanned the area and discovered Lai Fu sprawled on the living room floor, sleeping soundly with no one around. She quickly brought Lai Fu into the space as well.
"Don't let anyone bother me; I'm annoyed."
Ever since being unceremoniously abandoned outside the space last time, Lai Fu had not seen his Sister Xi Shi again, which left him feeling troubled. Just as he was feeling irritable with nowhere to vent his frustration, he let out a low growl from his throat.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself in another world, instantly alert and bright-eyed. There, not far away, he spotted Xiao Xishi happily chewing on a chew stick.
"Oh my, even eating looks so good!"
Lai Fu was about to trot over excitedly when he suddenly felt someone hug him tightly.
"Oh Lai Fu, look what your godmother bought for you—it's all your favorite dog treats!"
"Ouch! Woman, you're going to choke me! Can't you be gentler? Be careful or no one will want me in the future!"
The commotion drew Xiao Xishi's attention. With her round, grape-like eyes wide open, she curiously looked over at Lai Fu.
"Oh my gosh, strike a cool pose! Woman, get off me right now!"
Lai Fu, trapped by Bai Jie, couldn't even show off, looking at a certain woman with disdain.
"Alright, let's hurry up. I need to head out before dawn!"
Yu Songyu grabbed her gear and jumped into the car. This time, compared to the last, they had a clearer purpose. They brought along a complete set of books on how to cherish plants for Bai Jie, and after having taken several classes recently, they felt confident about this trip.
"Let’s take two watermelons!"
The watermelon seeds that Yu Songyu had casually thrown around earlier had already borne fruit. Plus, once you plant them, the melons keep growing even after being picked; it's really convenient.
"Whether we take them or not is fine. The fruits on our mountain are non-toxic; I've tested them all. Besides being a bit larger, there's no difference."
"Well, we could also package them nicely and supply them to major supermarkets. That could be a source of income!"
Yu Songyu suggested. After all, these fruits were abundant and endless; it would be better to turn them into cash.
"That's a good idea, but the problem now is that we don't have enough manpower. Just the two of us can't harvest much, especially since sometimes you're not around. The speed of turning this into profit is too slow."
"That is indeed an issue. To speed things up, we would need machinery or more hands."
"How about this? Today we can gather some seeds and scatter them on the ground like I did with the watermelons last time to see if we get any results. Also, let’s dig up the medicinal herbs we collect today, including the fungi, and plant them near our home. That way, maybe we won't have to go up the mountain so often in the future."
"That's a good point! We could open a patch for medicinal herbs near home and another for fruits and vegetables; that would be even better."
"But what if—just hypothetically—our construction workers see it? Wouldn't that cause trouble? So let's wait until the house is built and everything is planned out before doing that!"
As they say, one should never harbor ill intentions towards others but should always be cautious of others' intentions; no one can guarantee that they won't develop greedy thoughts.
