"Alright, alright, that joke isn't funny at all," the man's face twitched slightly, barely noticeable.
Yu Suihuan had long been a regular at the State-Owned Hotel; from the chefs to the janitors, there wasn't a single person who didn't recognize her. However, everyone’s impression of her still lingered on a year ago when she had a youthful innocence about her. Now, looking at her again, she was not only charmingly cute but also exuded an added allure, as if she had blossomed significantly.
The man beside her seemed different from the young lad he once was, yet in terms of appearance, they appeared to be evenly matched.
"Yuzhi, how about ordering a portion of Braised Pork? What do you think about Sweet and Sour Fish Fillets?"
These two dishes were Yu Suihuan's favorites. As everyone pretended to be busy with their own tasks, they couldn't help but eavesdrop on the table.
"Hahaha, you still remember? Yes, yes!"
Since they were treating someone to a meal, it couldn't be too shabby; Yu Suihuan ordered all the signature dishes.
"This gentleman is?"
The waiter nearly bit his lip in anticipation but couldn't resist asking.
"Oh, just a friend! This is our Production Team's captain, Huo Yaojun!"
Yu Suihuan handed the menu back to the waiter without noticing anything unusual.
"Oh, just a friend? My apologies!"
The waiter emphasized the word "friend," accidentally spraying Huo Yaojun with a bit of saliva in the process.
The gossiping crowd quickly pretended to be engrossed in their own affairs, their faces aching from suppressing laughter.
"It's fine!"
Huo Yaojun's expression remained serious, his voice cold.
Seeing this, the waiter dared not linger any longer and hurriedly grabbed the menu before darting into the kitchen.
"Don't mind them; they're all good people!"
Yu Suihuan had interacted with them a few times and knew that everyone here was decent.

At the dining table, the two engaged in lively conversation, showing no signs of awkwardness or discomfort. They felt like old friends who had known each other for years, sharing a sense of camaraderie that made their meeting feel long overdue.
Huo Yaojun initially thought that Yu Suihuan was just a pretty face from a small city, likely lacking in experience. However, as they interacted more, he discovered that no matter the topic, she could engage thoughtfully and even offered her own unique insights. There were things she knew that he, having grown up in the imperial city, was unaware of. This only deepened his curiosity about her and drew him to her mysterious aura.
The more he got to know her, the more he liked her, solidifying his determination to marry her one day.
"Thank you for today!"
As they left the restaurant, Yu Suihuan planned to check on Wang Heng and decided not to accompany him any longer.
"Ah, it’s my pleasure!"
"You go ahead; I have some things to take care of. I'll head out first!"
"Hey, where are you going? Let me walk you!"
The man was concerned; such a beautiful girl might attract unwanted attention.
"No need! My grandmother's house is nearby. You go on ahead; we’ll see each other another day!"
He wanted to persuade her to stay longer, but she didn’t give him the chance and waved goodbye as she walked away.
With less than two months until the college entrance examination, Yu Suihuan printed out the test papers and answers from the past year to give to Wang Zhao. This year's math exam had only eight questions, while the language section consisted of three major topics. The essay prompt offered a choice between discussing contributions to modernization or addressing Chairman Hua's thoughts.
"Yu Suihuan, is this really this year's exam questions?"
Wang Zhao took the test papers with disbelief. What kind of ability did this girl possess? How could she possibly obtain the exam papers? This shouldn't be possible!
"What? You don’t believe me? If you don’t believe it, just hand them over!"
