The person who accompanied Wang Zhao that day became Yang Qinghe.
"Hey, don’t hold me so tightly!"
"What's wrong with that? It's better than falling to the ground. Besides, there's a pot between us!"
"That makes sense," Xiao Cao thought, but stubbornly twisted its leaves, trying to maintain the farthest distance possible from Yang Qinghe.
"Hey, you risked your life to carry me back, and now you’re acting like you can’t stand me!"
Yang Qinghe teased, feeling that Xiao Cao was much cuter since it had transformed.
Xiao Cao became even more stubborn, puffing up in defiance, its branches and leaves straining away from Yang Qinghe's body.
Seeing this, Yang Qinghe couldn't help but reach out and poke one of its leaves.
Who would have thought that in the next moment, this little grass would unleash a flurry of Wing Chun moves right there!
"Alright, I won’t bother you! Let’s go check out the mine!"
From that day on, Yang Qinghe took on the responsibility of caring for Wang Zhao.
Fertilizing, watering, and loosening the soil—each task was done with utmost seriousness.
Under Yang Qinghe's careful nurturing, Wang Zhao felt its vitality growing stronger. Its leaves became greener and its branches sturdier. As they spent more time together, it seemed their friendship deepened even further than before.
As time passed, Wang Zhao gradually grew into a lush little plant and even sprouted flower buds.
For someone as image-conscious as Wang Zhao, this felt like the sky was falling.
"You’re supposed to be a flower; isn’t it normal to bloom?"
"That’s different! It must be because you over-fertilized!"
"I’m just trying to help you grow strong! Besides, if you bloom, then just bloom! Why are you so concerned? You don’t think blooming is feminine, do you?"
"I’m not feminine! Even if I bloom, it’ll be blue!"
Wang Zhao gritted its teeth, refusing to let itself blossom.
However, not everyone can resist their own nature. With Yang Qinghe’s teasing pushing it further, Wang Zhao couldn’t hold back any longer; the flower bud atop its head finally burst into bloom.
And it was a dazzling shade of pink. Yang Qinghe appeared calm on the surface, but inside, a storm was brewing, making it hard for him to contain his feelings.
Wang Zhao, upon seeing Yang Qinghe's expression, understood everything. He had withdrawn! For the past few days, during its blooming period, it had hardly acknowledged anyone, insisting that Yang Qinghe place it in the garden and then refusing to speak to anyone.
Around it, the flowers were in full bloom, displaying a riot of colors and large blossoms. Wang Zhao looked particularly small in comparison.
A bee flew by, then circled back and landed on Wang Zhao's petals. "Hey, you pesky bee, what do you think you're doing? Get lost! I advise you not to overstep your bounds!"
Hearing the voice, the little bee seemed puzzled and looked around for a while but found nothing unusual. "Hey, did you hear me? Get out of here! I don't need you!"
Wang Zhao flailed its leaves desperately, but it was futile; the little bee still dusted it with pollen. "Oh no, I'm not pure anymore! How could these flirtatious creatures and their gaudy makeup be worthy of me? I'm tainted!"
Once the bee flew away, Wang Zhao could no longer muster any resistance. All its leaves drooped down, appearing utterly defeated.
Just as one wave subsided, another rose. Lai Fu and Xiao Xishi's children had grown significantly since before; the garden was their favorite playground.
The puppies ran around playfully until they suddenly spotted Wang Zhao. This little plant might have looked a bit ugly, but its flowers bloomed vibrantly, standing out like a doll among the other garden blooms.
One particularly mischievous puppy grabbed the flower pot with its mouth, drooling all over Wang Zhao in the process. This time, Wang Zhao didn't struggle at all; it knew that the more it fought back, the more interest it would attract from the puppies.
