Fang Bo thought for a moment and said, "How about we ask some other classmates and see if there are any other clues?"
Just then, the boy we had seen in the morning suddenly appeared in front of us.
He was holding a tray and seemed oblivious to our presence.
Fang Bo pointed at him and exclaimed, "That's him! I saw him lurking under the tree, staring at the body this morning!"
I recognized the boy as well. "That's right! He was staring at me all morning!"
An idea struck me, and I stepped forward to grab the boy's hand. "Cousin! So you’re here!"
The boy looked visibly taken aback. "What did you call me?"
"Cousin! I'm your Auntie!" I pretended to be familiar with him, deliberately trying to get closer.
"Uh?" The boy looked at me with confusion written all over his face.
Fang Bo walked over, pretending to be my friend. "Xiao Tang, is this your cousin?"
I nodded with a smile. "Yes! This is my cousin!"
The boy seemed a bit awkward. "Sister, let's find a place to sit and talk."
"Sure! I actually have some questions for you," I replied cheerfully.
Fang Bo and I followed the boy to an empty table where we sat down.
The boy cautiously asked me, "Sister, how did you find me?"
"Oh, I'm here looking for someone, and I just happened to run into you!" I replied with a smile. "Cousin, how have you been lately?"
The boy looked at me warily. "I'm fine, thanks for asking, Sister."
"That's good to hear! Now I can relax!" I patted his shoulder, trying to ease his tension.
"Cousin, I heard from Aunt that things haven't been going well for you lately. What's going on?"
I continued to act familiar and tried to get closer to him.
"Huh? No, I'm fine..." The boy clearly became flustered.
I glanced at him. "Really? Because I heard that you've been..."
He hurriedly interrupted me. "Sister, I have some things to take care of today. I need to go..."
With that, he stood up and was about to leave.
I reached out and grabbed his arm. "Cousin, why are you in such a hurry? I haven't even asked you anything yet!"
He was clearly getting impatient. "I told you I'm fine! Please stop asking!"
"Alright, alright! I won't ask anymore!" I quickly let go of him and allowed him to leave.
Fang Bo whispered to me, "Why not just ask him about this morning?"
I smiled. "It's not the right time yet. We need to find his dorm first and see if he left any clues."
I learned from Fang Bo that the boy's name was Sun Chen, a sophomore majoring in Bioengineering.
We quietly followed Sun Chen as he entered the boys' dormitory building.
Fang Bo and I waited downstairs until Sun Chen went upstairs, then we stealthily slipped into the dormitory.
We found Room 307, where Sun Chen was staying.
Inside the room, two guys were playing games and using their phones.
Fang Bo and I knocked on the door, pretending to be the Dormitory Supervisors.
"Is anyone there? Please open the door! We need to check the dormitory's cleanliness!" I called out in a voice mimicking the Dormitory Supervisor.
A voice from inside responded, "Coming!"
Before long, a boy with a buzz cut opened the door.
Fang Bo and I seized the opportunity to slip inside.
In the room, another boy wearing glasses was engrossed in his phone.
