In that endless darkness, Xiao Meng's consciousness floated like a leaf adrift on an infinite ocean, the whispers of the wind around her sounding like ghostly murmurs in her ears. Her heart raced wildly, as if it were about to leap from her chest.
At that moment, a figure suddenly emerged from the crack of the Bronze Coffin—Teacher Lin. His face was as pale as paper, yet his gaze was remarkably resolute.
“Xiao Meng, catch this!” Teacher Lin struggled to extend his hand through the fissure, placing a glimmering Witch Script Chip into Xiao Meng's palm. His voice was weak but filled with undeniable strength: “Use the puppet heart of the green plum and my consciousness…” Before he could finish, his body was mercilessly torn apart by the chaotic currents of time and space, dissolving into countless specks of light in the darkness.
Xiao Meng felt a slight warmth in her palm; the Witch Script Chip seemed to pulse with life. Just then, Sunshine's mechanical body transformed into countless Xing Sha, resembling a brilliant meteor shower that scattered around her. His voice came from within the Xing Sha, tinged with urgency: “The blood of the Ancient Priestess can purify the Time Worm!”
Sunshine Star Sand took on an invisible hand that gently grasped Xiao Meng's wrist, forcing her fingertips to pierce. Bright red droplets of blood oozed from her fingertips, merging with the Xing Sha and instantly transforming into a dazzling light.
At the moment their fingertips touched, the Bronze Coffin erupted with a thunderous explosion, a blinding radiance illuminating the entire space like daylight. Above the parents' meeting hall, a massive Star Sand Vortex slowly emerged, resembling a giant eye gazing down at everything below.
Xiao Meng looked up to see countless Memory Fragments of children struggling within the vortex, as if silently calling out for help. The mechanical laughter of Black-hearted Grandpa echoed from the center of the vortex, filled with endless mockery and pride.
A surge of nameless anger welled up within Xiao Meng. She gripped the Witch Script Chip tightly, feeling the power contained within it. She knew that only by inserting the chip into the vortex could she save those trapped souls.
Taking a deep breath, she stepped forward, feeling the chip grow increasingly hot in her hand amidst the brilliance. Just as she was about to touch the vortex, time seemed to freeze.
In her mind's eye appeared a holographic image of Old Grandpa Plugin; his voice resonated as if coming from a distant time and space, carrying warmth and encouragement: “Xiao Meng, remember, your choice will change everything.”
Xiao Meng smiled faintly, determination shining in her eyes. She raised the chip high above her head, ready to embrace her destiny's challenge. At the center of the vortex, the light grew ever more radiant, as if awaiting her arrival.
At that moment, time began to flow again, and the gears of fate started to turn.
Xiao Meng bit her lip tightly, her heart racing as if it would leap out of her chest. She felt as though she were standing at the entrance of an important exam hall, holding a test paper that she wasn't sure she could pass.
She raised the Witch Script Chip high above her head, as if holding the Olympic Torch, and took slow steps toward the massive Star Sand Vortex. Each step felt like walking on cotton candy—light and airy, yet burdened with an inexplicable weight.
As the chip touched the edge of the vortex, a powerful suction suddenly pulled her in. A wailing sound filled her ears, reminiscent of the noise from old dial-up internet connections.
The entire world began to spin wildly, as if she had fallen into a giant washing machine's spin cycle, her insides feeling like they were about to be flung out.
Just when Xiao Meng thought she was about to turn into a puddle of rainbow-colored mud, a gigantic screen appeared in the center of the vortex, displaying a holographic image of Old Grandpa Plugin.
The old man stroked his flowing beard, looking ethereal and wise, and slowly said, “The true Time-Space Key is…”
“What is it? Hurry up and tell me, Grandpa!” Xiao Meng screamed internally, feeling more frantic than when a show suddenly cuts off at its climax due to a lost connection.
However, before Old Grandpa could finish his sentence, the Star Sand Vortex began to spin violently as if possessed. The old man's image twisted and distorted until it vanished like static on an old television screen without signal.
“Damn it, this is so unfair!” Xiao Meng couldn't help but curse, feeling like she had been played by the old man.
The center of the vortex gradually calmed down, revealing a massive Mechanical Heart that floated slowly, glimmering with metallic sheen.
Xiao Meng focused her gaze and noticed a line of delicate script engraved on the heart—“To the Future Witch.”
“Future Witch? What does that mean?” Xiao Meng scratched her head, feeling as if her brain was about to crash.
At that moment, a Time-Space Rift suddenly tore open in the distance. Countless black tentacles emerged from it like an octopus's limbs, writhing and spreading out while emitting a nauseating stench.
Lin Xiaoman's Mechanical Puppet slowly stepped out from the rift, black goo oozing from its eye sockets like two drops of black tears—it looked incredibly eerie.
In a raspy voice, it said, “Welcome to the true…”
Its words abruptly cut off like a tape that had suddenly jammed, leaving behind an unsettling silence.
Xiao Meng's heart sank; an ominous premonition surged within her. She felt as if she had fallen into a giant trap where deeper horrors lay hidden in its depths.
