“Cooing…” The sound of a baby’s laughter echoed in the silent room, reminiscent of the background music in a horror film.
Xiao Meng felt a chill run down her spine. This child, could it be a reincarnation of some ghostly infant? She couldn’t help but glance again at the baby’s Starlight Robe, and the more she looked, the more frightened she became. What was this shimmering fabric meant to blind?
“I’ve found you…” The voice of Black-hearted Grandpa was eerie, like it was wrapped in a layer of poisoned honey. His sudden remark startled Xiao Meng. Found whom? Surely he wasn’t talking about her?
Xiao Meng's heart raced, an unsettling feeling creeping over her as if something terrible was about to happen. Suddenly, a girl appeared out of thin air in the room. This girl looked exactly like Xiao Meng, except her eyes were cold and a strange smile played at the corners of her mouth.
“The Witch Clan needs a complete Three Lives Womb to be reborn,” the girl’s voice was as piercing as ice.
Xiao Meng was bewildered. Three Lives Womb? Rebirth? What on earth was going on? She felt as if she had fallen down a rabbit hole into a bizarre alternate world.
“Wait, who are you? Are you imitating me?” Xiao Meng blurted out.
The Mirror Girl let out a cold laugh, completely ignoring Xiao Meng's question. With a gentle wave of her hand, the walls around them began to twist and morph into countless mirrors. Each mirror reflected Xiao Meng's image, as if there were countless “hers” trapped within.
“This is… the Mirror Cage?” Xiao Meng tentatively reached out to touch the surface of one mirror, only to feel it like a layer of cold water.
Before she could process what was happening, the mirrors began to shatter endlessly, and the space around her stretched infinitely. Xiao Meng felt as though she were trapped inside a giant Kaleidoscope, dazzled and unable to distinguish East from West or North from South.
“Help! Is anyone there?” Xiao Meng shouted at the top of her lungs, but realized her voice was trapped within this mirrored space and could not escape.
At that moment, Blood Curse Master appeared. He held three hundred Wu Yue Bone Flutes in his hands, each emitting an eerie blood-red glow.
“Now we begin the second round of Quantum childbirth,” he announced ominously.
Quantum childbirth? What kind of bizarre operation was this? Xiao Meng listened in confusion, feeling as if she were hearing an ancient text in an unfamiliar language. Blood Curse Master walked over to Xing Hai without hesitation and plunged one Bone Flute into Xing Hai’s crown.
Three hundred Bone Flutes suddenly played in unison, emitting a sharp and piercing sound. The noise drilled into Xiao Meng's ears like a demonic melody, causing her head to throb painfully. At the same time, she felt a powerful force rising from her abdomen, as if something was trying to break free from within her. She curled up on the ground in agony, feeling as though her body was about to be torn apart.
"Ah—" Xiao Meng let out a chilling scream. Just then, Old Grandpa Plugin's hourglass shattered unexpectedly. Countless golden grains of sand floated in the air, eventually reassembling into an ancient totem. This totem radiated a mysterious glow, depicting a scene of an Ancient Priestess giving birth.
"You must use the Starry Marriage Contract as the key to the birth gate," an elderly voice echoed in Xiao Meng's mind. Starry Marriage Contract? The key to the birth gate? What kind of nonsense is this? Xiao Meng felt as if her head was about to explode. She struggled to comprehend everything but found herself becoming more confused with each passing moment.
The mirrored space continued to fracture, and the Bone Flute's sound from the Blood Curse Master grew sharper. Xiao Meng's stomach ached more intensely; she felt she could barely hold on any longer. "No, I have to find a way to escape!" Xiao Meng gritted her teeth and struggled to stand up. She looked around for an exit.
"You can't escape," Mirror Girl's voice rang out again, laced with mockery. "Your fate is already sealed; you are destined to become a sacrifice for the Witch Clan."
"Shut up!" Xiao Meng shouted angrily. "I will not become your sacrifice!" She clenched her fists tightly. Suddenly, her gaze fell upon the shattered hourglass. She recalled her uncle's words: "You must use the Starry Marriage Contract as the key to the birth gate." Starry Marriage Contract... wait, Starry Marriage Contract!
Xiao Meng suddenly had a realization, and her eyes lit up. "I know what to do!" Taking a deep breath, she shone with determination. She walked toward Mirror Girl, each step filled with strength.
"What are you going to do?" Mirror Girl asked warily.
Xiao Meng did not respond; she simply fixed her gaze on Mirror Girl with a confident smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "I will take back everything that belongs to me!"
No sooner had Xiao Meng spoken than the baby inside the Sunlight Cocoon began to move…
Before Xiao Meng could show off, she felt a tightness around her neck, as if ensnared by an Octopus's tentacle. Looking down in shock, she saw that the little one in the Sunlight Cocoon had sprouted a miniature version of Xing Hai's arm and was gripping her neck tightly.
This child has mutated?!
"I am the perfect vessel of the First Generation Priestess..." The baby's voice, though tender, carried an eerie maturity, as if it had been altered by a voice changer.
Xiao Meng felt her entire persona crumbling; the direction of this plot was more thrilling than a roller coaster.
A perfect vessel?
Was she about to be possessed?
The pressure around her neck grew stronger, and Xiao Meng found it increasingly difficult to breathe. She struggled to pry away that small hand but discovered the arm was as unyielding as steel, utterly immovable.
"Hey, little one, let's talk this out without resorting to violence!" Xiao Meng attempted to reason, but it was clear that the child was not interested in such logic.
Just as Xiao Meng felt she was on the brink of suffocation, a more horrifying scene unfolded.
The Blood Curse Master, who had been standing nearby, suddenly tore open his own chest.
Yes, literally tore it open—blood gushed forth in a gruesome display that was shockingly violent.
"Ugh..." Xiao Meng felt her stomach churn violently, nearly vomiting.
This Black-hearted Grandpa was taking things too far!
What lay within the torn chest was not normal human anatomy but a writhing Serpent-shaped Uterus, emanating a nauseating stench.
"The child of the True Priestess must consume the Starry Marriage Contract..." The Blood Curse Master's voice echoed like it came from the depths of hell, filled with endless malice.
Immediately after, three hundred shards sparkling with starlight rolled out from the Serpent-shaped Uterus, each radiating an ancient and mysterious aura.
Xiao Meng's eyes widened; that familiar shimmering light was none other than the Starry Marriage Contract given to her by Sunshine!
Three hundred shards?
This divorce was far too thorough!
She felt her worldview shattering; what kind of absurdity was this?
"No way... Is this really happening?" Xiao Meng murmured to herself, her mind blank.
She felt like a little white rabbit that had wandered into a wolf's den, at risk of being devoured at any moment.
The pressure around her neck intensified, and the scene before her grew increasingly gruesome. Xiao Meng felt herself on the verge of collapse.
At that moment, all the Star Pattern Lock Cores on the Infant Arm suddenly lit up simultaneously...
