Within ten minutes, someone knocked on Miss Yu's door. She lazily adjusted her clothes and opened the door, startled to find her husband and brother-in-law standing outside. They had arrived on the first flight after the airport reopened. Miss Yu stepped aside to let them in, followed by Xiao Ma and Li Rong.
Miss Yu silently thought, "That was close!"
Mr. Yu and his brother wore serious expressions, clearly concerned about the delays caused by Li Rong and the others. Miss Yu's brother-in-law had a bad temper; as soon as everyone sat down, he began to scold them loudly, blaming them for not bringing the entire group back to Ningzhou on the morning of the typhoon's arrival when flights were still operating.
Li Rong's face turned pale; she had been busy with Xiao Ma and the two guests all night and had no idea that a typhoon was approaching. How could she explain that?
Xiao Ma, feeling guilty for stealing someone else's wife, remained silent, afraid to defend himself. Miss Yu tried to mediate, but just as she opened her mouth, her brother-in-law turned to her and continued his tirade, accusing her of failing to manage Xiao Ma and Li Rong properly and lacking any ability to adapt.
Miss Yu felt a surge of anger; she couldn't swallow her pride like Li Rong. She immediately took on the role of the strong sister-in-law, retorting sharply that when faced with guests' stern criticisms, it was up to them to handle the situation. Now that the two brothers had arrived, all they did was send people away—anyone could play the role of a useless boss.
In an instant, the room erupted into a fierce argument. Miss Yu and her brother-in-law exchanged heated insults while Li Rong became the peacemaker. Mr. Yu, as the head of the company, found himself caught between family matters and business affairs, unable to mediate effectively due to his timid nature. Meanwhile, Miss Yu was not one to back down; she pointed at her brother-in-law's nose and accused him of "not being a real man."
This infuriated her brother-in-law even more; he nearly raised his hand to strike her. Li Rong became so anxious that she started crying softly in a corner while the two continued their verbal sparring, tension thick in the air. Mr. Yu occasionally attempted to calm them down, but his brother ignored him and kept shouting at his sister-in-law with a fierce expression.
As their insults ran dry, both remained furious, creating an extremely tense atmosphere. Seizing the moment when neither his wife nor his brother had anything more to say, Mr. Yu quickly interjected that continuing their argument wouldn't solve anything; their priority should be sending the group members back to Ningzhou first. Seeing that neither his wife nor his brother objected, he suggested they arrange a special dinner later that evening for representatives from both groups while discussing how to handle the aftermath.
As the general manager, his word carried weight. Xiao Ma immediately volunteered to inform the restaurant staff, seizing the opportunity to escape from the conflict.
He reminded everyone that after dinner they would reconvene in this room to decide on a plan of action and distribute tasks based on their earlier discussions.
When dinner time arrived, both groups gathered cheerfully in the restaurant. Although they had only known each other for a few days, everyone was friendly as they dined together.
Xiao Ma arranged for a private room; in his group were Wang and two other company welfare committee members. Miss Yu invited Zhang Ming along with Chen Di, filling a table of ten. Mr. Yu led the staff from Ningzhou Brothers Travel Agency in apologizing for the itinerary delays and raised a toast to everyone present.
