The hand composed entirely of Dark Matter slowly extended from the black hole, its three fingers seemingly intent on tearing apart the boundaries of reality. Lin Yuan's heart raced as the Time Manipulator in his palm trembled violently, sensing a lethal threat.
"Run!" He grabbed the still-dazed Zhang Qiang. "That’s not a finger; it’s a Dimension Anchor Point!"
Before he could finish speaking, a blinding white light suddenly erupted from the edge of the black hole. Lin Yuan barely had time to set the Time Manipulator to maximum power before an irresistible gravitational force engulfed them all. The world twisted and tore before his eyes; he felt his body stretched to its limits, only to be compressed infinitely in the next moment.
The air was filled with piercing shrieks, like thousands of bats screaming simultaneously. Lin Yuan tried to grasp Su Jiu'er’s hand but found his arm had transformed into a beam of light, passing through her equally ethereal form.
"Oh my god!" Zhang Qiang's voice was elongated and compressed, sounding like a broken record. "This is even more thrilling than a roller coaster! I’m going to be sick!"
Zhou Haoran's glasses shattered in the chaotic spatial turbulence, yet he shouted excitedly, "Quantum tunneling! We’re experiencing interdimensional transmission! This is the Wormhole Theory that even Einstein couldn’t prove!"
Lin Yuan felt his consciousness being torn into fragments, then reassembled by some unknown force. His Guan Qi Abilities were forced to evolve in this extreme environment, revealing countless shadows of parallel timelines—some worlds were technologically advanced, while others remained in primitive societies; some were filled with war and destruction, while others enjoyed peace and tranquility.
These images flashed before him like a revolving lantern, finally settling on a world rich in Lingqi.
"Bang!"
The four of them landed heavily on the soft ground. Lin Yuan was the first to get up, cautiously surveying their surroundings. What greeted his eyes was no longer the cold metal of the Bronze Palace but a lush primordial forest. Towering ancient trees blocked out the sun, and the air was thick with Lingqi so dense it felt almost tangible.
"Cough cough!" Su Jiu'er stood up, clutching her chest, her face pale as paper. "The Spiritual Energy Concentration here... is at least a hundred times that of the Original World!"
Zhou Haoran pulled out a spare pair of glasses from his backpack and simultaneously retrieved a small Detection Device. "Incredible! The Spiritual Energy Concentration has reached 9827 ppm; such a value is impossible in our world!"
Zhang Qiang slumped to the ground, his face turning green. "I feel like I’ve been stuffed into a washing machine and spun dry... ugh!" He turned and vomited on the ground.
Lin Yuan closed his eyes and activated his Guan Qi Abilities. In an instant, his expression turned serious. "Everyone be careful, the Lingqi rules in this world are completely different from ours."
"How different?" Su Jiu'er asked, pulling a compass from her pocket. The compass needle spun wildly before finally pointing in a completely unfamiliar direction.
"In our world, Lingqi is gentle, flowing like water," Lin Yuan opened his eyes, golden light flickering within them. "But here, Lingqi is more like... boiling magma, violent and aggressive. Our Meridian system might not be able to withstand this intensity."
Zhou Haoran excitedly recorded the data. "This is amazing! We might be the first Cultivators to enter a parallel world! Just think of how many papers we could publish!"
"Shut up!" Zhang Qiang finally regained his composure. "Is this really the time to worry about papers? We need to focus on surviving first!"
Suddenly, Lin Yuan raised a finger. "Quiet! Something is coming."
From deep within the forest came rustling sounds, and the bushes shook violently. Instinctively, Lin Yuan shielded Su Jiu'er behind him, readying his Time Manipulator in his palm.
"Roar!"
Three massive beasts burst forth from the underbrush, their bodies covered in sharp spikes. They had wolf-like heads, leopard-like bodies, and tails that resembled scorpions, raised high with tips glowing with a ghostly blue light.
"What the hell! What kind of stitched-up monster is this?" Zhang Qiang fumbled to draw his Nine-section Whip. "Wolf-Headed Leopard-Body Scorpion-Tailed Beast?"
The beasts let out deafening roars, their poisonous stingers aimed at the four of them. Lin Yuan sensed that the Lingqi flowing within them was at least ten times stronger than that of ordinary wild beasts.
"Scatter!" Lin Yuan shouted as he activated his Time Manipulator. The world around him slowed down; he clearly saw the trajectory of the stingers being launched and easily dodged them.
Su Jiu'er’s compass transformed into a Bronze shield, blocking the stinger aimed at her. Zhou Haoran nimbly rolled behind a large tree, but Zhang Qiang wasn’t so lucky—a stinger grazed his arm, instantly causing a patch of purple-blue blisters to form.
"Mom! This thing is poisonous!" Zhang Qiang screamed as he flailed his arms.
The largest monster set its sights on Lin Yuan and lunged at him. Instead of retreating, Lin Yuan charged forward. Just as the beast was about to pounce on him, a golden light suddenly radiated from his right hand, which he pressed directly against the monster's chest.
"Material Decomposition!"
This was the new ability he had comprehended in the Bronze Palace. The monster's body began to decompose rapidly from the point of contact, transforming into pure Lingqi Particles. In less than three seconds, the massive creature vanished without a trace, leaving only a dense Spiritual Energy Cloud floating in the air.
Lin Yuan reached out and summoned the Spiritual Energy Cloud into his body, instantly feeling a warm current surge throughout him.
"Wow! Boss is amazing!" Zhang Qiang exclaimed in awe. "That move is so cool!"
The other two monsters, witnessing this, let out terrified howls and turned to flee. Su Jiu'er sent her compass flying, transforming it into a bronze wheel that sliced one of the monsters in half. Zhou Haoran pulled out a Special Syringe from his backpack and accurately shot it into the last monster's eye, injecting a Biological Virus that quickly caused it to spasm and collapse.
"Phew..." Lin Yuan exhaled deeply. "It seems our abilities have actually strengthened in this world."
"The Spiritual Energy Concentration here is so high; it's like watering a thirsty plant," Su Jiu'er remarked thoughtfully as she retrieved her compass. "But we must be cautious; excessive Lingqi could cause our Meridians to explode."
Zhou Haoran crouched beside the monster's corpse, excitedly collecting samples. "This creature absolutely does not exist in our world! Its DNA structure is so unique, almost like it has been artificially modified..."
"Hey, look at this!" Zhang Qiang suddenly pointed at the trunk of a giant tree, where strange symbols were carved.
Su Jiu'er approached for a closer look, her eyes lighting up. "This is Ancient Script! But it’s somewhat different... like a variant of ancient characters from our world."
Lin Yuan gently traced his fingers over the symbols, sensing a familiar yet foreign energy fluctuation. "These symbols contain Lingqi circuits; they might be part of some kind of formation."
Su Jiu'er's compass suddenly began to shake violently, the needle pointing deep into the forest. "That direction has the aura of ancient ruins!" she exclaimed. "This is related to our purpose for this journey!"
"Are you saying that this parallel world might preserve ancient civilizations that have been lost in our world?" Zhou Haoran adjusted his glasses.
"Very likely," Su Jiu'er nodded. "The two worlds are inherently connected; they just diverged at some point in time. This world may have taken a completely different developmental path than ours."
Lin Yuan suddenly furrowed his brow and turned towards the deeper part of the forest. "Wait, I sense something..."
He closed his eyes, fully activating his Guan Qi abilities. In his perception, there was an extraordinarily powerful Spiritual Energy Fluctuation deep within the forest, far stronger than the monsters they had encountered earlier—by a hundredfold or more. That power was deep and ancient, like a dragon that had slept for a thousand years.
"There is an extremely powerful presence in the depths of the forest," Lin Yuan opened his eyes, golden light flickering within them. "Its strength... exceeds my imagination."
"Is it friend or foe?" Zhang Qiang asked nervously.
"I don't know, but it seems to be calling us," Lin Yuan felt an inexplicable pull. "We should go take a look."
"Wait," Su Jiu'er grabbed Lin Yuan's arm. "We've just arrived in this unfamiliar world; it's unwise to recklessly venture into dangerous areas."
Lin Yuan thought for a moment and nodded. "You're right; we should first familiarize ourselves with the rules of this world. But that presence... it gives me a strange feeling, as if it's related to our purpose here."
"Then let's follow these symbols and see if we can find more clues," Su Jiu'er suggested. "At the same time, we need to stay alert and be ready to retreat at any moment."
Everyone agreed with this plan. Lin Yuan led the way, constantly on guard for any sounds around them. Su Jiu'er’s compass guided their direction, while Zhou Haoran diligently recorded various data about this world. Zhang Qiang brought up the rear, his Nine-section Whip ready for action at any time.
As they ventured deeper into the forest, they discovered more and more ancient symbols—some carved into trees and others remnants of stone tablets. Su Jiu'er confirmed that these symbols were indeed related to ancient civilizations but showed clear signs of mutation.
"These symbols record a method of cultivation," Su Jiu'er interpreted, "but it is very different from the ancient cultivation methods of our world; it is more... primitive and direct."
Lin Yuan suddenly stopped, his expression serious. "There are people ahead."
Everyone immediately became alert, hiding behind the bushes to observe. Not far away in a clearing, several individuals dressed in strange clothing were busy with something. Their attire seemed to be a mix of ancient and modern styles, yet they held clearly high-tech devices in their hands.
"That’s... the uniform of the Tianhua National Qi Gong Association!" Zhou Haoran whispered in surprise, "but it’s somewhat different."
Lin Yuan observed closely and noticed that the badges on those people's chests indeed resembled those of the Qi Gong Association, but the colors and patterns had subtle differences. Even more astonishing was the flow of Lingqi within them, which was radically different from that of cultivators in the Original World; it was more violent and uncontrolled.
"What are they searching for?" Lin Yuan murmured, "and it seems they have been here for quite some time."
At that moment, one of the individuals suddenly looked up, his gaze fixed directly on the direction where Lin Yuan and the others were hiding. The person's eyes glimmered with an eerie blue light, and a cold smile crept across his lips.
"We've been spotted!" Lin Yuan's heart raced with alarm. "Prepare for battle!"
The person slowly raised his hand, gathering a blinding sphere of Lingqi in his palm, far denser than any Lingqi from cultivators in the Original World. Lin Yuan felt an unprecedented sense of crisis wash over him; the Time Manipulator in his palm trembled violently as if warning him of the impending danger.
"The cultivators of this world... are far stronger than we imagined," Lin Yuan gritted his teeth, ready to face the battle that was about to unfold.
