“Qin Xusha, make him disappear from my sight within ten seconds. If he doesn't, break an arm,” Jiang Chen said calmly.
Qin Xusha quickly translated.
Upon hearing Qin Xusha's translation, Engma's anger flared up like a raging fire. “How dare you? Do you know who I am? You better apologize and cripple yourselves, or I will make you die a miserable death,” Engma shouted loudly.
As Engma continued to rant, Qin Xusha silently started counting down. When she reached “ten” in her mind, she turned her head aside.
“Ah!”
Engma let out a scream as his other arm was severed.
“Let's go grab a late-night snack,” Jiang Chen said, showing no interest in Engma. To him, Engma was no more significant than a fly; breaking both his arms was merely a lesson.
“I'll go change clothes,” Ma'erka said.
“Just like that, let's go,” Jiang Chen replied.
“Oh, okay.” Ma'erka nodded obediently while secretly glancing at Jiang Chen, her gaze reminiscent of a girl in love stealing glances at her crush.
“Huh?” Jiang Lu was taken aback. Something felt off; Ma'erka's attitude towards her older brother seemed unusual.
“Brother, do you know Ma'erka?” Jiang Lu caught up to her brother and asked softly.
“I saved her last time,” Jiang Chen replied casually.
“Ah, brother, you should have mentioned it earlier! That must be why she recognized you at the concert and invited me on stage to sing with her,” Jiang Lu exclaimed.
“There's nothing much to say about it. I didn't even know she was a singer beforehand, let alone that she was your idol,” Jiang Chen chuckled.
“Hehe, brother, you're amazing,” Jiang Lu teased playfully.
In a private room of a restaurant outside, Ma'erka and the two brothers sat down. Ma'erka insisted that her manager and bodyguards stay behind, but they still followed at a distance; after all, Ma'erka was their golden goose, and they didn't want anything to happen to her.
Jiang Chen paid no mind to it. After sitting down, he had initially thought that Ma'erka would be nervous and tongue-tied during dinner. However, it turned out that she was now flustered and awkward, completely unlike the composed demeanor she had on stage earlier.
Jiang Lu could only marvel at her brother's remarkable charm and capabilities.
“Mr. Jiang, thank you so much for saving me last time. I still don't know how to repay you,” Ma'erka finally stammered out.
“It’s nothing,” Jiang Chen smiled slightly.
Perhaps sensing that this god before her was not as aloof as she imagined, Ma'erka relaxed a bit. As they continued to converse, she learned that Jiang Lu was the god's sister and that Qin Xusha was not his girlfriend. A sense of relief washed over her; she felt secretly delighted. Of course, she mistakenly believed that Jiang Lu was Jiang Chen's biological sister rather than his adopted sister since both Jiang Chen and Jiang Lu had intentionally left that unclear.
After finishing the meal, Jiang Chen stood up, preparing to leave.
“Mr. Jiang, although you saved me with just a gesture, it means the world to me. Please give me a chance to repay you. I know I may not be able to help you much, but whatever you need, I will do my best to fulfill it,” Ma'erka said hurriedly, eager to find a reason to see Jiang Chen again.
Jiang Chen looked at Ma'erka, pondering for a moment before he slowly replied, “I hear you have a song that is essential for weddings. How about this: on October 1st, I have a friend getting married in Hua Xia Capital. If you could attend and sing that song, it would be a way for you to repay me.”
