"Alright, let's wait and see," Chen Chongchong said resentfully. She then acted cute towards Kenner, who was still quite indulgent with his little girlfriend. He quickly took out his phone and called the behind-the-scenes boss of Lirenni Garden.
However, as he spoke, Kenner's expression darkened because the other party hung up immediately after hearing his request. This left Kenner feeling embarrassed, and he could only comfort himself by saying that it was probably a bad signal and that he would call again. But this time, the call didn't go through at all.
"Uh," Kenner said, looking bewildered. He couldn't understand why the boss of Lirenni Garden suddenly turned cold; their relationship had been quite good before.
"What's wrong?" Chen Chongchong asked.
"He must be busy and didn't answer the call. Chong Chong, I think we should just let this go. Your fashion show is already over, and there's a celebration party tonight. Let's go," Kenner said, his expression slightly awkward.
"No way! She can't prepare for her fashion show here; you have to stop her," Chen Chongchong pleaded.
Seeing his little girlfriend looking gloomy and resentful made Kenner feel helpless. However, he also knew that the boss of Lirenni Garden would clearly not agree, leaving him with no options.
"Chong Chong, I really can't do anything right now. Besides, holding a fashion show here isn't that big of a deal; it's just a matter of spending money to rent the place. But what's most important for a fashion show isn't the venue; it's the people. She's just an unknown designer without any senior figures or big names to support her—her show won't create any waves," Kenner reassured her.
Chen Chongchong was utterly frustrated but felt there was nothing more she could do. She still needed to cling to Kenner's arm and couldn't push too hard.
"Ni Xingyi, consider yourself lucky today. But don't think that just because you're willing to spend money to hold a fashion show here, you'll become famous in the industry. If no one supports you, you're just a clown entertaining yourself," Chen Chongchong said sharply.
"You don't need to worry about that. I enjoy entertaining myself; are you jealous?" Ni Xingyi scoffed.
"Your skin has become thicker than my Chanel crocodile skin bag! Fine, I'll wait and see how many people come to support you. You better not become the designer with the least guests and models in the history of Lirenni Garden; that would be a joke in our fashion industry," Chen Chongchong sneered.
"If you come to support me, then I won't need to invite guests; here's your entry ticket. Without it, you won't get in later," Ni Xingyi said as she handed two tickets to Chen Chongchong, returning the favor.
Chen Chongchong glared at Ni Xingyi without reaching out for the tickets.
"If you can't get in later, you won't be able to see my little show. Do you really want to miss this opportunity?" Ni Xingyi smiled.
"Hmph, we'll see about that. I want to see just how thick your skin can get," Chen Chongchong said as she snatched the tickets and walked away with long strides, linking arms with Kenner.
Jiang Chen had remained silent throughout this exchange; he couldn't be bothered with such matters.
"Master, those two were so rude earlier; should I teach them a lesson?" Jon asked.
"No need," Jiang Chen replied casually as he strolled around Lirenni Garden.
After two hours of preparation, the venue looked completely transformed. Around six in the evening, Chen Chongchong arrived with Kenner by car.
