"Heh, Jon, we are electing a Clan Leader for the Delson Family. Bringing in an outsider like you is against the rules," one of the old men with a big beard sneered.
"Did you not bring outsiders as well? And do you know who Mr. Jiang is to me?" Jon replied with a grin. "Mr. Jiang is my master and does not count as an outsider."
Jon's words were as impactful as Jiang Chen's earlier display of power, leaving the Delson Family members dumbfounded. Although they were reluctant to acknowledge Jon as one of their own, there was no doubt about his social status. Even without the Delson Family's prestige, Jon was a billionaire and a super-rich individual; someone like him could even run for President of the United States. Yet here he was referring to a Huaxia person as his master—this was simply unbelievable.
"If he is your master, then you are even less qualified to be the Clan Leader of the Delson Family. The position of Clan Leader is of great nobility; serving a Huaxia person as a servant would ruin our family's reputation," the old man with a big beard seized the opportunity to retort.
The old man with a big beard was of the same generation as Meng Li and was Jon's uncle. He had thought victory was assured this time; he had been winning hearts and minds for quite some time now. If an election were held, he would undoubtedly have the most votes, and the position of Clan Leader would be his without question.
