The night was as dark as ink at Busan Port, with the salty sea breeze in the air.
Park Bucheng stood at the high point of the dock's warehouse area, squinting down at the brightly lit target building below—a deserted Frozen Warehouse. However, it was now heavily guarded, with sentries and hidden watchers interspersed, exuding an eerie atmosphere of tension.
"Boss, is Master Li Xuanwei's intel accurate? This place doesn't look abandoned," Li Shunjae asked, covering the wound on his arm and grimacing slightly, his tone laced with unease.
"The intel is reliable. Those Chaebols always hide their shady dealings in dark corners," Park Bucheng replied, stroking his chin thoughtfully. A glint of cunning flashed in his eyes. "The calmer the surface appears, the more turbulent the undercurrents beneath; that's where the real danger lies."
Choi Ji-yeon checked her gear and whispered, "Park Bucheng, our people are in position and ready to move at any time."
Park Bucheng nodded and pulled out the map he had found in the Metal Box, studying it carefully under the faint moonlight. The area marked in red on the map indicated the underground section of the Frozen Warehouse, which likely housed evidence of the Chaebol's collusion with America Nation Forces regarding their New Weapon.
"Remember, our goal is to gather intelligence, not to confront them head-on," Park Bucheng said, tucking away the map with a serious tone. "Everyone stay alert and don't give anything away."
"Understood!" everyone responded in unison.
At midnight, the operation commenced.
Park Bucheng's team of three moved like shadows through the warehouse district, using the cover of night and terrain to silently bypass the outer security perimeter. Park Bucheng moved with agility reminiscent of a cat, occasionally glancing back to signal his teammates to follow, his expression radiating confidence and calm.
Inside the warehouse, infrared sensors and surveillance cameras were everywhere, creating an invisible web that enveloped the entire space. But for Park Bucheng, who had mastered Graceful Wave Steps, these obstacles were insignificant. He moved lightly on his feet, gliding through the warehouse like a ghost, easily evading all monitoring devices without triggering any alarms.
Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon followed closely behind Park Bucheng, both awestruck by his skill. They knew he was exceptional but had not expected him to be so elusive.
"Wow, Boss's moves are even smoother than a COS Monk!" Li Shunjae whispered in admiration.
Choi Ji-yeon couldn't help but praise him as well. "Park Bucheng, you’re incredible!"
Park Bucheng paid no heed to their compliments; his focus was entirely on locating the entrance to the secret chamber. According to the map, it should be deep within the Frozen Warehouse where temperatures plummeted to unbearable levels for ordinary people.
As they ventured deeper into the Frozen Warehouse, a chilling cold enveloped them. Even wearing specially designed cold-resistant gear did little to stave off the bone-chilling temperature. Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon shivered uncontrollably, their movements growing sluggish.
"Just hold on a little longer; we're almost there!" Park Bucheng encouraged them, aware that his teammates were nearing their limits.
Finally, they reached the innermost part of the Frozen Warehouse. Behind stacks of frozen meat, Park Bucheng spotted an inconspicuous metal door. He gently pushed it open; it creaked silently to reveal a passage leading underground.
"This is it!" A spark of excitement flickered in Park Bucheng's eyes.
Entering the passage revealed a narrow staircase descending into darkness. Dust and cobwebs covered each step while a musty odor filled the air, making it hard to breathe.
At the end of the staircase stood a heavy iron door. Park Bucheng tried to push it, but it wouldn't budge. He knew that behind this door lay the secret chamber they were searching for.
"I'll handle this!" Li Shunjae said, pulling out a small explosive device and expertly placing it against the iron door.
With a loud bang, the door was blown open, leaving a large hole.
Park Bucheng rushed in first, followed closely by Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon.
The chamber was brightly lit, filled with various advanced instruments and metal containers holding unknown liquids. In the center stood a massive machine connected by numerous wires and pipes, looking exceedingly complex.
"What is this thing?" Li Shunjae asked curiously.
Just then, a cold voice echoed from deep within the chamber, "Who are you?"
A tall figure emerged from the shadows—it was Kim Tae-wook. Dressed in black combat gear, his icy gaze radiated an intimidating aura.
"Kim Tae-wook!" Park Bucheng narrowed his eyes, his tone icy. "It seems we really are destined to cross paths."
"Hmph, you chose to ignore the path to heaven and barged into hell!" Kim Tae-wook sneered. "Since you're here, don't think you'll leave alive!"
A fierce battle was about to erupt.
Kim Tae-wook struck first, his fists like iron, each blow aimed at Park Bucheng's vital points with deadly precision. Park Bucheng couldn't afford to be careless; he swiftly dodged Kim Tae-wook's attack and executed Graceful Wave Steps, maneuvering behind Kim Tae-wook and delivering a palm strike to his back.
Kim Tae-wook reacted quickly, spinning around and meeting Park Bucheng's strike with a powerful punch.
"Bang!"
The two forces collided with a deafening roar.
Park Bucheng felt a tremendous force surge through him, causing his arm to go numb as he stumbled back several steps.
"What incredible internal strength!" Park Bucheng thought in shock.
Kim Tae-wook pressed his advantage relentlessly, launching another series of attacks with fists and feet that came at Park Bucheng like a torrential storm.
Park Bucheng fought while retreating, evading Kim Tae-wook's strikes while searching for an opportunity to counterattack.
Suddenly, Park Bucheng had a brilliant idea. He deliberately left an opening, luring Kim Tae-wook closer.
As expected, Kim Tae-wook fell for the trap. Thinking that Park Bucheng had exhausted all his tricks, he increased his attack speed.
At the moment Kim Tae-wook drew near, Park Bucheng suddenly unleashed the Six Meridians Divine Sword. An invisible sword energy shot from his fingertips, aimed directly at Kim Tae-wook's chest.
Caught off guard, Kim Tae-wook was struck by the sword energy and let out a scream as he was sent flying backward, crashing heavily to the ground.
Park Bucheng did not give Kim Tae-wook a chance to catch his breath. He flickered and appeared in front of Kim Tae-wook, ready to deliver a fatal blow.
Just then, the alarm in the secret chamber suddenly blared, its piercing sound echoing throughout the warehouse area.
"Damn it!" Park Bucheng cursed under his breath, realizing he could no longer afford to delay.
He glanced at the fallen Kim Tae-wook, a flicker of hesitation crossing his eyes.
In the end, he abandoned the idea of killing Kim Tae-wook. He knew that if he did so, it would completely enrage the Chaebol, leading to even more frenzied retaliation.
"Let's go!" Park Bucheng called out as he quickly led Li Shunjae and Choi Ji-yeon to evacuate the secret chamber.
Shortly after they left, a large group of Chaebol security personnel arrived at the scene, surrounding Kim Tae-wook completely.
