"We've known her for so many years. I understand her personality; she can be a bit vain, but she has a good heart. We should be more tolerant. Xiao Chen, tomorrow when you go to Dao City with Aunt Chu, just keep a low profile. Listen to what Aunt Chu says and don't take it too seriously," Zhou Rongli advised.
"I know, Mom," Jiang Chen replied with a smile, feeling there was no need to argue with a woman like that.
In the afternoon, Jiang Lu's family took Jiang Chen to Flag Mountain Park in their county. Standing at the peak of Flag Mountain, they could see the mighty Yangtze River flowing. Although it was a small county, it had its own charm.
The next day, Jiang Chen set off for Dao City. His father drove him, along with Chu Mei and her daughter Wang Duoduo, to Liu Fei City Airport.
Jiang Chen was going to Dao City to watch the Martial Arts Competition and had also brought Lin Yin along. Lin Yin was thrilled to participate in this major event and had flown to Dao City the day before to help arrange hotel accommodations for her master.
While checking in at the airport, Chu Mei glanced at Jiang Chen's ticket and was surprised to see that he was also in business class.
"You’re on a business trip and you can sit in business class?" Chu Mei asked in astonishment.
"Of course," Jiang Chen replied casually as he put away his boarding pass and headed for security, not wanting to waste any more words with Chu Mei.
Chu Mei and her daughter quickly checked in and went through security as well.
After resting in the lounge for a while, it was time for Jiang Chen's flight to board.
In domestic flights, there are only business class and economy class; business class is just slightly more expensive than economy class and offers a bit more space. Other than that, there’s nothing particularly special about it compared to international first-class cabins that offer more privacy.
Chu Mei and Wang Duoduo were also in business class, which made Jiang Chen relieved since their seats were not together. He finally had some peace during the flight. With nothing else to do, he took out his phone and put on his headphones to listen to music by Ma'erka.
To be honest, Ma'erka had a nice voice and was quite talented.
After more than an hour, the plane landed at Dao City Airport.
"Jiang Chen, your Uncle Wang's driver is here to pick us up. You don’t need to stay at a hotel; just come stay at our house," Chu Mei said enthusiastically as she caught up with him.
"Mom," Wang Duoduo immediately frowned at the idea of Jiang Chen staying at their home.
"No thanks, I've already booked a hotel," Jiang Chen said with a slight smile, appearing like an innocent young man next door.
"That's fine; I'll have the driver take you to your hotel then," Chu Mei said without insisting further.
"I have someone picking me up; there's no need for that," Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
"You have friends in Dao City?" Chu Mei asked in surprise. She felt that Jiang Chen seemed different now; when she first saw him yesterday, she thought he was just an unambitious person, but today he was flying in business class.
"They're coming with me to watch the Martial Arts Competition," Jiang Chen explained casually.
"Oh, since they're not from Dao City, there's no need for a taxi. Just call your friend over; I'll drive you both. Don't be polite with Auntie; it's settled," Chu Mei insisted.
Jiang Chen smiled gently and said nothing more.
At the airport exit, many people were waiting for their friends and family, but one girl stood out among the crowd. With her exquisite features, she wore denim shorts that accentuated her long, shapely legs, paired with a pair of Gucci sneakers. Her long hair was styled in playful twin ponytails, giving her a cute and mischievous appearance.
