The teacher-student romance is quite thrilling to think about. A popular fantasy drama that premiered this year revolves around such a relationship. Lin Yin, while watching the show, couldn't help but imagine herself and her master in the roles portrayed on screen.
Coughing lightly to regain her composure, she clarified, "You misunderstand. He is my master, not my boyfriend."
"Lin Yin, let's go," Jiang Chen interrupted her, striding away with determination. He had no interest in explaining himself to Chu Mei, nor did he see the need to. No matter how much he explained, Chu Mei would only continue to speculate and doubt.
Jiang Chen's attitude infuriated Wang Duoduo. "Jiang Chen, do you know your girlfriend has caused a big problem? The person she kicked just now is a wealthy second-generation from Dao City. You should apologize quickly; otherwise, you won't have an easy time."
"Don't worry about it, beautiful," Lin Yin replied with a smile over her shoulder.
"You'll regret it," Wang Duoduo warned with a raised eyebrow and a cold smirk as she observed Lin Yin's nonchalant demeanor.
The young master Qian, having regained his composure, was furious to see Lin Yin walking alongside another man. He rushed forward to block her path. "How dare you kick me? You must be tired of living! I'll give you a chance: if you agree to come with me, I can let you go. Otherwise..."
Unfortunately for young master Qian, before he could finish his threat, he received another kick to the groin and let out a couple of pained cries before collapsing unconscious.
Lin Yin and Jiang Chen walked away as if nothing had happened, looking quite carefree.
"This time Jiang Chen is really going to be in trouble. I need to inform his godmother quickly. Taking on such a godson is just asking for trouble," Chu Mei said as she hurriedly pulled out her phone to call Zhou Rongli.
Chu Mei expected Zhou Rongli to be anxious upon hearing the news, but to her surprise, Zhou Rongli simply laughed after listening and showed no signs of worry. "I trust Xiao Chen; he'll handle his own affairs without any issues. I won't concern myself with it."
"Rongli, you really have a big heart. Your godson's girlfriend has offended the son of a wealthy man from Dao City. This situation could end badly for you all. What if it affects you?" Chu Mei was taken aback.
"It's fine; let's leave it at that for now. I have a meeting to attend," Zhou Rongli said somewhat impatiently before hanging up.
After the call ended, Chu Mei was puzzled by Zhou Rongli's nonchalance. Perhaps Jiang Chen was merely her godson after all!
"Mom, does Aunt Zhou think that since you're here, you'll handle this for Jiang Chen? That's why she's not worried?" Wang Duoduo asked.
"Your mother doesn't have such great power. However, we can't ignore this matter since I've been friends with your Aunt Zhou for many years. We came here on the same flight as Jiang Chen," Chu Mei replied helplessly.
"We can definitely intervene; I'll ask Chen Ran to step in. He has considerable influence among the wealthy second-generation crowd in Dao City. But since Jiang Chen hasn't come to us for help, we don't need to get involved," Wang Duoduo suggested.
"Is it really appropriate to trouble Chen Ran?" Chu Mei hesitated.
"He’s my boyfriend; if I really need his help, wouldn’t he assist me?" Wang Duoduo said proudly.
"I'm worried about what the Chen family might say; after all, they are a prestigious family. It's best not to give anyone any reason to gossip," Chu Mei thought carefully.
