At seven in the evening, Yun Li finished her evening practice and quickly washed up, mainly to remove the sweat from her body.
Stepping out of the bedroom, she found all the lights turned off. She switched on a flashlight and made her way to the living room, where only a single beam of light illuminated the sofa, leaving the surroundings in darkness.
Jiang Shiyu was seated on the sofa, dressed in a gray crew-neck sweatshirt and black casual pants. Upon seeing Yun Li, he beckoned her with a casual gesture of his fingers.
Yun Li turned off the flashlight and sat down beside him. The atmosphere felt tense and oddly charged. Her heart raced uncontrollably as she tried to sit up straight next to him.
Jiang Shiyu's gaze swept over her before settling on her taut profile. He reached out and pulled her waist closer to him.
Leaning into his embrace, Yun Li noticed that Jiang Shiyu had already queued up a movie—a foreign film.
As the opening credits began, Yun Li's heart fluttered, sending ripples of excitement throughout her body. She remained still in his arms, not daring to move as the screen flickered between darkness and light, brushing against her cheek while Jiang Shiyu leaned in closer.
Was her body this stiff? Had she taken a cold shower?
Yun Li shook her head; no, she hadn’t! She tried to relax and act normal. What kind of movie was this?
An American romance movie.
Oh.
Yun Li rarely watched foreign films and didn’t quite understand them. The plot seemed straightforward at first, but the characters spoke quickly, making her feel drowsy as she lazily leaned against him.
Suddenly, a kiss appeared on screen, jolting her awake; her eyes widened as she froze in place, unable to move.
Jiang Shiyu remained still, his expression serious as he gently played with her hair, his fingers entwining with the strands. The two characters on screen soon parted ways.
Yun Li let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding; this time, sleepiness had vanished, replaced by a slow drift into daydreaming. She didn’t even notice when Jiang Shiyu accelerated the movie’s pace.
Then she felt his breath against her neck, causing an unbearable tickle that made her instinctively shrink away. The sudden shriek from the screen made her face flush bright red.
The male lead pinned the female lead to the bed, and they kissed passionately, their sounds echoing in her ears without missing a beat.
A low, husky voice sounded behind her. "What are you thinking about, Hao Hao?"
Yun Li turned her head and nudged him. "What movie are you watching? How could there be such a scene?"
The girl, blushing and shy, looked enticing under the bright lights.
Jiang Shiyu chuckled with a hoarse voice. "It's just a foreign film; it's normal."
"Just a kiss, and you're already overwhelmed?"
Yun Li quickly covered his mouth, her face flushed. "Stop talking." Her tone was soft, and she couldn't bring herself to meet his gaze.
Jiang Shiyu paused the movie, and the uncomfortable sounds faded away, making Yun Li feel a bit better.
He gently grasped her chin, his deep eyes tracing over her sparkling eyes, delicate nose, and then to her pink lips.
As he leaned in to kiss her, Yun Li tilted her head back. At first, it was fine, but soon it became a bit overwhelming. Jiang Shiyu gradually pushed her back until she was lying on the sofa. Lying flat made it somewhat easier to bear.
His tall and strong body enveloped her completely, dark hair spilling over the cream-colored sofa. The dim light highlighted her flushed cheeks; her eyelashes fluttered as she closed her eyes, appearing innocent.
The kiss moved from her lips to her cheeks, forehead, hairline, and ears, as he gently nibbled and breathed against her skin.
Yun Li placed her hands on his shoulders, feeling his strength beneath her fingertips. They slipped delicately into his sweatshirt.
Finally, his hands glided downwards, sending shivers through her as he traced along her neck with kisses, gentle bites, and soft licks.
