Yun Li arrived home happily, having bought drinks and barbecue to celebrate. The villa area where Shu Ran lived was large, and it took Yun Li ten minutes to walk there. She rang the doorbell.
Inside the bedroom, Shu Ran was entangled with Cheng Zhou when she suddenly pushed him away, feeling the heat of desire. "Someone's here," she said in a panic as she buttoned her shirt. Could it be my mom?
Cheng Zhou frowned, glancing at the bulge beneath the covers. Frustrated, he ran a hand through his hair and got out of bed. "I'll go check."
Looking at the screen, he saw Yun Li outside, and his expression darkened further. He turned to the flustered Shu Ran behind him and said, "Tell her you're not home."
Shu Ran leaned over to see Yun Li outside. Caught between her sister and a man, she chose mischief and quickly ran to the bedroom to message Yun Li.
Yun Li texted her, "Ran Ran, open the door! I brought a lot of food; it's heavy."
"Baby, I'm not home. Sorry for making you come all this way," Shu Ran replied.
Seeing this message, Yun Li furrowed her brow in confusion. The villa had just been brightly lit, but now it was dark. "If you're not home, why were the lights on?"
Behind her, Cheng Zhou had already wrapped his arms around her again. Realizing she couldn't hide it any longer, Shu Ran pushed him away once more.
Cheng Zhou was even more annoyed now, his narrow black eyes fixed on her.
Shu Ran weakly pointed to the bulge beneath the covers. "You should probably go tidy up in the bathroom."
Cheng Zhou sneered and headed to the bathroom.
Shu Ran adjusted her clothes one last time before heading to open the door. "I was just sleeping!" she exclaimed as she opened it. She asked Yun Li for help with the heavy bags as they walked through the garden into the house.
Yun Li changed her shoes and looked at Shu Ran incredulously. "Are you hiding something from me?"
Shu Ran quickly denied it. "No! I was just really tired today and went to bed early. I woke up halfway and realized I forgot to turn off the lights. I saw your message and replied."
Yun Li scrutinized her, but Shu Ran pulled her to sit at the dining table. "What did you bring to eat? You can't have barbecue; it'll upset your stomach later."
Yun Li took out some medicine to show her. "I brought medicine! If I eat a little bit less, I'll be fine."
Seeing Yun Li's current state reminded Shu Ran of their school days, filling her heart with joy as she decided to let things be.
"Then let's drink until we can't anymore tonight."
Yun Li reminded, "I only bought drinks, no alcohol. I have to get up early tomorrow!"
"Then let's enjoy ourselves," Shu Ran said, wrapping her arm around Yun Li's neck. As Yun Li opened the packaging, Shu Ran quickly sent a message to Cheng Zhou.
"Don't come out."
Cheng Zhou replied, "?"
"Don't let the baby find out."
Cheng Zhou responded, "Who is the baby?" His displeasure was palpable even through the screen.
Shu Ran quickly corrected herself, "You're the baby. Be good and don't come out to cause trouble, okay? Mwah!"
Cheng Zhou replied, "Mm."
She had soothed him.
Shu Ran sighed in relief and put down her phone. The two of them opened a can and took a sip of soda, both letting out a satisfied sigh.
"Are you two going to leave me out?" A sudden male voice startled Yun Li.
The drink bottle in her hand shook slightly. Looking over, she saw Cheng Zhou coming out in black pajamas, his hair still damp, with a Pink Pig towel draped around his neck.
Yun Li recognized it; she and Shu Ran had picked that Pink Pig towel together.
Yun Li turned to look at Shu Ran, who was so startled that she couldn't breathe. Facing Yun Li's silent inquiry, she quickly explained, "Baby, I didn't mean to."
Cheng Zhou clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction. "Didn't you say the baby was me? Why is someone else here?"
Shu Ran felt a chill run down her spine; she hadn't expected Cheng Zhou to be so stubborn about not coming out.
Yun Li understood and stood up with her bag, saying, "I won't disturb you two."
Shu Ran hurriedly grabbed her arm. "Wait! Let me explain."
