The weight of the mecha has increased by tons, likely due to the weapon modifications. The Situational Awareness has also been upgraded with the Energy Core, enhancing its range to kilometers. The Firepower Index has skyrocketed, and that’s the real focus here.
Each mecha has a basic firepower value determined by its Energy Core level and the base values of its weapons. When you factor in talent enhancements, you arrive at the final firepower coefficient. Any increase in these metrics significantly boosts the firepower coefficient, and Lu Ziye's three values are all soaring.
With the level up, attack speed increased, and weapon upgrades, his combat power has surged dramatically. It’s only going to get more intense from here. Lu Ziye felt a surge of excitement; today, he was heading into an area frequented by Level Mechanical Beasts.
To reach higher levels for the mecha, more energy is needed. Killing Level Mechanical Beasts contributes to this progress. It’s not that the experience from killing lower-level Mechanical Beasts has diminished; this isn’t a game—upgrading the mecha simply requires more energy.
By defeating Level Mechanical Beasts of the same rank, energy can be obtained. In the future, if he gains enough strength, he could even take on higher-level Mechanical Beasts for even greater energy rewards.
The three mechas raced toward the Level Area. Currently, none of them could fly; without engaging boost mode, their Speed could reach certain limits. When boost mode is activated, it consumes more energy, allowing the mechas to leap hundreds of meters but not sustain flight.
It is rumored that once they reach Level Energy Core and equip power devices above a certain grade, mechas will be able to fly at cruising altitude.
"Wan Hao: In the Northwest Direction, there’s a Level Mechanical Beast ahead; prepare for battle!"
They were now within range, though the power would decrease slightly at this distance. Lu Ziye raised his hand and unleashed a barrage from his Miao Pao at the Mechanical Beast, this time using Armor-Piercing Energy Shells.
The ground was instantly blasted into hundreds of craters by the Energy Shells, and the Mechanical Beasts charged forward at a noticeably slower pace than before. Lu Ziye's new weapon had a certain repelling effect; each time a Mechanical Beast was hit, it would stagger back a few meters. Although the repelling effect wasn't strong, it was certainly better than nothing.
The Mechanical Beasts were continuously struck, roaring as they charged and retaliated. The leading mechanical wolf had barely covered half the distance when it was taken down by the combined firepower of Lu Ziye and Cai Huan.
"Brother Lu, we’re really strong!" Squad Cai Yan exclaimed.
"Dead on the way? Good grief, I have a feeling that soon I won’t even need to be in the front line," Wan Hao remarked.
"Let’s set a small goal: in an hour, we’ll all level up," Squad Cai Yan suggested.
Everyone could clearly feel that Lu Ziye's firepower had become significantly more ferocious, and they were all filled with confidence about leveling up.
Outside of Lu Ziye's squad, they were in the Level Mechanical Beast area. An Elite Mechanical Mother Bug roared as it burrowed underground, madly advancing forward and quickly crossing into the Level Area, heading straight for it.
The shell of this Elite Mechanical Mother Bug was extremely tough and resilient. It also had a particularly troublesome trait: when faced with danger, it would split into hundreds of weaker yet incredibly annoying Mechanical Beetles. Although these beetles were only level one and among the weakest in the Level Mechanical Beast category, their sheer numbers made them overwhelming. Many Mechanics would retreat at the sight of the Mechanical Mother Bug.
The White Zone was defined by a vague boundary based on the typical habitat patterns of the Mechanical Beasts. Occasionally, Advanced Mechanical Beasts would appear in the Level Area; such occurrences were referred to as riots by the Mechanics. This was also why there were reinforcement troops stationed in the White Zone to protect novice Mechanics.
If an area frequently experienced riots, it wasn’t a good sign—it indicated that powerful Mechanical Beasts were present, disrupting the habitat patterns and causing anomalies among the Mechanical Beasts. This could very well lead to the worst-case scenario known as Metal Storm, commonly referred to as Beast Tide!
