In the next moment, energy surged forth in a torrent.
Qiu Yuan: ???
Xiao Ming: ???
It wasn't just the two of them; the other warriors of the Dragon Rising Legion were equally bewildered. They had witnessed countless new recruits undergo assessments, but they had never seen anything like this.
Was this a test for new members? It felt more like an evaluation of the Test Mecha's strength. But why was a mere Level One Mechanic involved in this?
"Alright, alright, that's enough!" Qiu Yuan quickly urged Lu Ziye to stop.
Commander suspected he was being lured into close combat and couldn't afford to be careless. Lu Ziye glanced at the small hill in the distance, a look of skepticism on his face. This scene had appeared more than once in movies—some villain buried under rubble, and the foolish protagonist thought they had been defeated, only for an arm to emerge from the ruins, revealing that the villain was very much alive.
The importance of Lun Bu!
No, no, no, he really couldn't get up; it was time to back off, Xiao Lu. Xiao Ming stepped forward to intervene, feeling greatly shocked: Who raised this kid? Is this what caution looks like? It felt more like he was a stubborn little brat.
"Alright, alright, Legion Commander Liu Tianwei, does this mean I passed? After all, it only took a second before the opponent stopped moving. Legion Commander Liu Tianwei said we needed to engage for a full minute."
"You've passed, but you still need to continue testing to strive for a higher rank as a Dragon Warrior." Xiao Ming waved his hand and had an assistant bring out a Samsung Test Mecha. If you can hold out against him for a minute, you'll be recognized as a Dragon Three-Star Warrior.
Xiao Ming had observed the earlier battle clearly; they skipped right past the two-star test and went straight for intensity.
Qiu Yuan was stunned as he looked at his One Star Warrior Badge; it suddenly felt less impressive. He adjusted his posture and subtly turned to the side so that Lu Ziye wouldn't notice.
In the distance, the Logistics Team dragged out the Star Tester Mecha from among the boulders. At that moment, its chest was completely pierced through, yet its arm still maintained an elegant pose as if inviting someone to join.
Test Mechas were systems equipped with strong learning capabilities. For instance, this Samsung Mecha glanced at the Star Test Mecha lying lifelessly in the distance. It initially intended to mimic an inviting gesture but quickly retracted it.
Learning quickly!
In the next second, the Samsung Test Mecha took the initiative. It absorbed the lessons from the earlier Test Mecha and launched a surprise attack.
Lu Ziye's Raider Mech also sprang into action, soaring into the air at nearly supersonic speed to evade the first wave of furious attacks before retaliating with its own barrage of firepower.
Watching the mechs clash together, Qiu Yuan quietly remarked, "Legion Commander Liu Tianwei, I remember that it takes ten thousand combat power for a Samsung Mecha to win, right?"
"That's correct!"
"Can this kid really win?" Qiu Yuan marveled as he watched Lu Ziye maneuver effortlessly in the arena.
"Should be, you’ve surprised me a lot today," Xiao Ming replied just as a massive object crashed down from the sky, landing heavily on the ground. It was the Samsung Test Mecha.
As the mech hit the ground, it attempted to rise like a carp, but a long Red Army weapon was swiftly placed against its neck.
"I actually won! I actually won!" Lu Ziye exclaimed in shock. It was so easy; they wouldn't be going easy on him, would they?
A collective gasp echoed around them.
"Hahaha, interesting, interesting!" Xiao Ming said as he piloted his mech step by step toward the testing area, stretching his limbs. "It’s been at least a year since I personally assessed a team member. Xiao Lu, thank you for giving me this opportunity; I’m really excited."
"What? The Legion Commander Liu Tianwei is personally stepping in?" Lu Ziye's heart raced with shock.
Xiao Ming glanced at his assistant and declared loudly, "Make sure to record this. The Dragon Kingdom's first star assessment begins now, assessor: Xiao Ming!"
The entire testing ground fell silent.
It’s important to note that assessments for the Dragon Rising Legion have always been conducted with the testers' mechs. In the past, there had been prodigies, but they were usually at most at star level and mostly participated after reaching a certain rank.
The legion did have star warriors, but they were not assessed; they grew on the battlefield and earned their ranks through military achievements.
And now this young man, with energy intensity at level C, had forced Xiao Ming to take action? What does that even mean?
Standing face to face with Lu Ziye, Xiao Ming drew a long blade from its sheath. On his right arm, a simple black Energy Shell emerged. "I will control the Firepower Index at ten thousand. If you can last for one minute, I’ll consider you passed."
Lu Ziye nodded confidently. "Alright!"
