The moment Lu Ziye opened fire, the eyes of Bob and the others instantly cleared up.
What was happening? They were just relieved that Lu Ziye's target was a Mechanical Lord who could take the hit for them; otherwise, they would have exploded on the spot from that barrage. Bob quickly realized that Lu Ziye had intentionally lured them into action.
"Damn it, this kid has been hiding his strength," Bob thought.
"This attack speed, this firepower—who is this guy?" Mossang wondered aloud.
"I know! He must be the rumored freak from the Dragon Kingdom," Xiao Bi Zai Zai Zi chimed in.
"Thought we were the ones fishing, but it turns out he's the real deal. Brothers, we can't fight him; let's run!" Bob shouted.
After Lu Ziye fired, he watched as the Mechanical Lord absorbed most of the Energy Shells, its body shattering into several pieces. Strangely, though, the Mechanical Beast, which resembled a stick insect, broke apart so neatly that it looked like tofu being sliced.
The shattered body twisted on the ground, and in the next moment, as if it had memory, it began to reassemble itself.
Mechanical Profound Meaning: Reshape.
Lu Ziye didn’t care about the writhing and reassembling Mechanical Beast on the ground; after witnessing the last Mechanical Lord's ability to replicate itself with its Mechanical Essence, he had grown accustomed to such sights.
At this moment, he shifted his gaze toward the three Mechanics who were fleeing toward the Beast Nest. Since he was already here, why run? Lu Ziye activated his Power and accelerated to chase after them while continuing to fire his Trin Kinetic Cannon.
The Energy Shells soared through the air, and the slowest among them, Sakura Country Mechanic Xiao Bi Zai Zai Zi, was the first to suffer. He was directly buried under cannon fire, his mech body shattered into countless pieces—there wasn’t a single good piece left of him.
Lu Ziye fully adhered to Xiao Ming's advice: if anyone dared to make a move against him, he would show no mercy. However, Lu Ziye understood that the relationship between the Dragon Kingdom and other nations was very delicate. Xiao Ming's identity was also quite special; he couldn’t let others bear an unjust burden because of his own issues and get entangled in a conflict with a Foreign Commander.
This was why Lu Ziye had baited them into striking first; he recorded Combat Footage so that when he submitted this evidence later, it would be easier for Xiao Ming to handle.
Seeing Xiao Bi Zai Zai Zi turned into rubble behind him, Mo Sang and Bob felt despair creeping in. They ran while pleading for mercy from Lu Ziye, who was hot on their heels.
"Brother, we were wrong! Please show mercy considering we are allies," Mo Sang's voice trembled as he glanced at Xiao Bi Zai Zai Zi’s gruesome fate; he was genuinely terrified.
"Just let us go; it would be easy for you! But if you kill us, you’ll have a hard time explaining," Bob said, drenched in sweat.
It was late! Lu Ziye showed no hesitation. After pursuing his target, he unleashed a barrage of firepower, bringing both enemies crashing down from the sky. He followed up with a few thousand more rounds, ensuring there was no risk of healing before turning to confront the Mechanical Lord behind him.
The Mechanical Lord possessed the ability to Reshape, but this Mechanical Essence was not invincible. Lu Ziye realized that this Reshape ability stemmed from the Energy Core of the Mechanical Beast. Each time it reshaped, the Energy Core suffered irreversible damage, leading to a decrease in energy levels.
This meant that with every kill, the Mechanical Beast's strength diminished. In other words, if he killed it a few more times, he could take it down for good. This Mechanical Essence was not impressive at all, Lu Ziye thought to himself.
After the Mechanical Lord had been killed over a dozen times, the Metal Wreckage on the ground was shattered beyond recognition, and it finally ceased its Reshape process. Lu Ziye's Mecha System chimed with reward notifications.
"Kill the Mechanical Lord successful. You have obtained a Component-Level Proton Propulsion Engine (Quality). You have gained Mecha Mastery Progress; current unlock progress: you have gained Energy Crystal Core Progress."
A flood of reward information poured in, and Lu Ziye accepted it with delight. He had acquired a high-level engine component—this was excellent news, as it would significantly boost his speed.
Killing this high-level Mechanical Lord had yielded far more Mechanical Essence progress than before. Lu Ziye speculated that this was related to their levels; the last enemy he defeated, the Imitator, had been at his level, so it provided a certain amount of essence. However, this time, the Mechanical Lord was at a higher level than him, which accounted for the increased Mechanical Essence progress he received.
