In the more basic Gray Zone, Lu Ziye could hardly imagine how many Mechanics were preparing for battle, estimating it to be around Wan Mecha. As human Mechanics moved further back, their numbers dwindled; for instance, in the Black Zone, it was rumored that there were hardly any Mechanics inside.
Standing beside Lu Ziye, Qiu Yuan felt confused. The last time they attacked the Gray Zone, they hadn't deployed this many mechs. What was going on? A world war?

With the orders given, giant Starships in the sky began transporting soldiers en masse to the front lines. After all, in the Blue Zone, there were still some Mechanics of lower levels that could not fly. In the Gray Zone, hardly any Mechanics could fly at all; thus, the importance of Starships was evident.
For those Mecha Legions closer to the battlefield, they could advance by moving on foot. This was a crucial battle that would affect the future of Lan Xing and was related to the secret Xiao Ming had mentioned.
In this battle, Lu Ziye served as the battlefield commander, leading a legion of thousands of Mechas to defend Three Gate. However, this did not mean that Hao Xingmen relied solely on Lu Ziye's squad for combat. The Star Gate was vast; its width made it clear that one squad alone could not handle such a battlefield.
The Blue Zone is not just about defending the Star Gate. If all the Mechanical Beasts were allowed to surge towards the dozens of Star Gates, controlling such a battle would be incredibly difficult. Therefore, the thousands of Wan Mecha participating in the Blue Zone conflict would be deployed at various chokepoints and high grounds to conduct ambushes along the way, similar to the previous ambush led by Lu Ziye in Setting Sun Canyon.
However, unlike before, the ambush in the Blue Zone does not require a steadfast defense; it only needs to eliminate as many passing Mechanical Beasts as possible, leaving the remaining tasks to the defending troops at the Star Gate. The number of Mechanical Beasts that could break through these outer defenses and reach the vicinity of the Star Gate is minimal.
Lu Ziye led his Mecha Legion to their designated position, where a massive half-circle Star Gate appeared before him, its width spanning several miles. Previously, only a small number of Mechanical Beasts had passed through this Star Gate towards the Gray Zone, and they were subsequently ambushed by Lu Ziye in Setting Sun Canyon.
Hao Xingmen had several legions stationed for defense, and Lu Ziye's legion was one of them. Lu Ziye glanced at his companion and thought to himself: You really dare to dream big; I wouldn't even consider that. Hearing this discussion piqued the interest of nearby comrades, who eagerly joined in.
"Commander Lu, is that for real? Do you think our mission might turn into an assault on the Star Gate? Charge in and drag their leader out to take him down? Just thinking about it is thrilling!"
Lu Ziye was taken aback. He had heard of living bodhisattvas before, but rarely encountered such audacious ideas—were they really going to attack the Star Gate?
Initially, when this group of soldiers heard that a commander would be air-dropped in, they felt somewhat uncertain since their Deputy Commander was already a top-tier figure in the Blue Zone. The intensity of the chaos made it impossible to distinguish how many times explosions occurred; all that could be felt was the relentless roar that never faded away.
