After successfully sending the intelligence regarding the U.S. Aid Material Flow to China, which was crucial for the survival of the American Side hospital, Lin Feng knew that it was far from time to relax. The Military Intelligence Agents were like wolves, cunning and suspicious; any misstep could expose his recent achievement, rendering it worthless and potentially leading to dire consequences. Thus, he suppressed the turmoil within and made a bold decision to stay behind and assist the technicians in repairing the radio. 0

Inside the radio room, the atmosphere was as tense as the calm before a storm. The technicians were frantically gathered around the malfunctioning radio, their brows furrowed and expressions filled with anxiety and helplessness. Tools were scattered everywhere, wires were being checked repeatedly, and parts were disassembled and reassembled, yet the radio remained unresponsive, with only an occasional flicker of the indicator light mocking their incompetence. 0

Lin Feng quietly rejoined the repair team, wearing a focused and enthusiastic expression as if immersing himself in the task of fixing the radio was his sole mission. He bent down to pick up a screwdriver from the floor, casually fiddling with a circuit interface while murmuring, "Everyone, don’t panic. Let’s take a closer look; we’ll definitely find the problem. Although this radio is complex, it’s not flawless." 0

As he spoke, he leaned closer to the core component—the power amplifier—pretending to check the heat sink while discreetly pressing down on a small capacitor. This seemingly insignificant capacitor actually controlled the stable output of current; Lin Feng's subtle press misaligned its internal plates, laying the groundwork for intermittent failures in the future. 0

The technicians remained oblivious to Lin Feng's small maneuver as they continued their frantic search for the source of the malfunction. One technician with slightly more experience wiped sweat from his forehead and looked up, frustration evident in his voice. "Lin Consultant, we've been at this for quite some time now with no results. Could it be that the vacuum tube is burnt out? But testing shows no issues!" 0

Lin Feng frowned slightly, feigning deep thought as his gaze swept over the radio before finally landing on the Power Supply Module. He pointed there and said, "I think we should stop fixating on the vacuum tube; we need to check the power supply thoroughly as well. Sometimes seemingly minor issues can lead to major failures." The others found some sense in his words and shifted their focus to the power supply. 0

Seizing the opportunity while everyone was distracted, Lin Feng subtly tampered with a resistor located beneath the Power Adjustment Knob. He lightly scraped its surface coating with his fingernail, causing a slight change in resistance. As a result, when the radio operated later on, any minor voltage fluctuations would likely lead to signal interruptions or increased noise. 0

Throughout the repair process, Lin Feng pretended to be eager to help while skillfully controlling the pace of work. He occasionally offered seemingly professional suggestions that led technicians down incorrect paths while discreetly sabotaging critical components. After several hours of hard work, amidst a cacophony of static electricity sounds, the radio finally regained a weak signal. 0

The technicians cheered as if they had conquered a world-class challenge. Lin Feng also breathed a sigh of relief and wore a satisfied smile; however, he knew this was merely step one of his plan. He patted one technician on the shoulder and said, "Thank you all for your hard work. Although we’ve temporarily fixed this radio, I believe we need to fine-tune it further to ensure everything is perfect. If this thing fails at a critical moment, we’ll all be in trouble." 0

Everyone nodded in agreement and began meticulous adjustments on the radio again. Lin Feng observed closely; whenever technicians were about to discover his previous tampering, he would cleverly divert their attention or use anecdotes from experience to steer them away from critical areas. 0

Thus, under what appeared to be normal conditions, the radio was put back into operation. However, over the following days, just as Lin Feng had anticipated, it frequently exhibited annoying minor faults. Sometimes signals would abruptly cut off only to resume after several minutes; other times garbled transmissions required repeated verification just to make sense of them. These issues seemed random but were actually results of Lin Feng's careful planning; each fault provided him with an excellent cover for future operations involving this radio. 0

The American Side grew increasingly frustrated by these occurrences; they held multiple meetings with technicians trying to identify root causes but found only superficial problems insufficient to explain the frequent malfunctions each time they checked. Meanwhile, Lin Feng feigned innocence alongside everyone else during discussions and occasionally offered seemingly reasonable suggestions that further muddled perceptions. 0

After one such malfunction occurred, the head of Military Intelligence summoned Lin Feng into his office and scrutinized him sharply. "Lin Consultant," he asked sternly, "why has this radio been plagued with issues since it was repaired last time? Did you encounter similar situations at Wang Wei’s place?" 0

Lin Feng felt a chill run through him but maintained an outward calmness. He lowered his head thoughtfully for a moment before looking up and responding: "Sir, I also find it strange. I believe that during our last repair some latent issues weren't fully resolved combined with frequent use lately leading to overloads which caused these intermittent faults. Perhaps we should conduct another thorough inspection focusing on those easily overlooked corners." 0

The Chief of Espionage regarded him skeptically for a moment before finally waving him off dismissively saying: "You can go now. Work closely with your technicians again; if there are more problems arising from your end next time, I will hold you accountable!" 0

Lin Feng respectfully acknowledged and exited the office knowing he had temporarily evaded danger once again but that threats still loomed nearby. However, he felt no fear; as long as he could secure more opportunities for American Side and relay crucial intelligence, all risks would be worth it. Moving forward, he needed to continue navigating within American Side while leveraging this specially treated radio to add more hope towards victory in the Anti-Japanese War. 0
